Installing OS X.2 on another partition

Will OSX.2 install on a partition that is NOT on the first 8gigs worth of space on the HD?



I partitioned my 85gig drive, and the partition I wanted OSX on wasn't within the first 8gigs. This really bummed me out. And screwed everything up.



Does anyone know if this limit has been fixed? And why it's there in the first place?
