Blue-Ray

I called Apple today and found out that YES the new MacBooks like mine actually do play the Blue Disks and it is HD. I don't know if anyone of you have seen the PC buying comparison commercial, the one where the kid choices the PC because of its Blue Ray and Game Capability. I hate PC commercials. What do you think?

I think your next question should have been exactly which Mac can playback Blu-Ray movies, how much it costs, and where can it be bought?

I have Build 9G213, That's the newest 13.9' MacBook. My MacBook cost 1,500 and that is with the no tax because I bought mine in Delaware and a Student ID. What people don't realize is yes Macs are more expensive but well worth it in the long run, especially with the discounts. All the new MacBooks can play Blue Ray discs just like the Sony Playstation 3.

Your computer does not read/play Blu-Ray discs. Not if it's a MacBook running OSX.

You seem to think it does, that's why I (still) think you're an idiot.

Yes, I know I'm feeding the troll, but I just can't help myself! (It's probably due to one of my many personal problems.)

On the (very) off chance that you're serious, go buy a Blu-Ray movie and try to play on your Macbook. Then get back to us.

LOL.. some of you folks are viscous

but that's ok.. no hard no foul!

Yeah, I recommend the OP (or anyone else) to buy a BR movie for a trial... I'm fairly sure there's no actual Blu-Ray playback support in the currently revision of MacOS 10.5.6 and so far, I ain't come across any third-party application to play any BR streams.

Though, I did recently install a UJ-225 in my MBP17, purely for the uses of mass storage - up to 50Gb of data on a little disc is amazingly cheap!

No no no, I checked this with my doctors today - neurologists and psychologists - these are the best specialists in the state and they all confirmed to me that, in fact, you are an idiot.

When I post a statement I first make sure that it is true. I called Apple and questioned them about the subject. And they said my computer does play Blue Ray.

    But it's still not true.

...and this only serves to reinforce my opinion of your mental prowess.

No... really!! ... run to Wal-Mart and buy yourself a Blu-Ray movie disc and see how it performs in your MacBook running OSX.

    Hiya Russell.

I'm curious mate... Could you tell me which Mac did you say you have again? As I'd like to help you resolve the issue and find you everything you need to know about your system, even the specifications of the "SuperDrive" you have along with the manufacturer's model, then if you like, at your pleasure, go read it's specs for yourself! Maybe then, all this bickering will stop?

From first hand experience, occasionally Apple's employees have given out false information, though your's could be true but highly unlikely, since non of Apple's current system support Blu-Ray, nevermind 'Blue Ray"

Yeah. Poor guy probably thinks he's pulled off some kind of "epic" troll, when really, he's just taken a few seconds out of the days of a couple of people with (in my case) nothing better to do.

    How is this for Epic...

    FUCK YOU ALL

Yep, the large font and all caps really put that one over the edge... "epic" might not be good enough to describe it.

The only thing that would have made it better would have been red text!
