My feeling is that the current Finder is more than adequate, but something along the lines of iTunes is in store for the future. Meta-data infused, perhaps, but at least re-organizable more instantaneously.

Is <a href="http://www.pth.com/PTHPasteboard/"; target="_blank">this</a> something like what you're looking for?

I'd just like a Finder that remembers I like my windows to open up in Column View.

Jaguar even adds a check box for this in the Finder preferences, but it doesn't seem to have the global effect you'd expect it to.

I have to agree that OS X still doesn't feel anywhere near "finished". I know it's only a 0.2 revision, and will probably be around in another 16 years being refined and polished, but it feels like a beta product.

And I still feel joy every time I go back to OS 9 and everything moves so quickly. And I still feel dismay that going into Windows XP feels like a more complete experience than going into OS X.

Oh, and for those of you who, like me, wonder where on earth those "150 compelling new features" are hiding, check out <a href="http://radio.weblogs.com/0100676/"; target="_blank">Ken Bereskin's website</a>.

Yea,that's a start,I'll download that.Ideally it would have a visual representation of the items, and could be accessed in a manner similar to the dock, maybe like a pullout shelf.
