Menu Bar Controls

How many apps have menu bar controls?

On my iBook I have iChat, modem, Airport, sound, battery charge, time/date and weatherpop.



Does iChat have one of these? Wouldn't that be cool if it did? With a little thumbnail image of the month.....

    This is the entire list of available .menu apps for 10.2. 3rd party .menus (like WeatherPop) are not allowed and require the installation of an additional "hack" to get them to work. Status menus (like NetMonitor) are still valid and work perfectly fine on 10.2.



    AirPort.menu

    Battery.menu

    Bluetooth.menu

    Clock.menu

    Displays.menu

    Eject.menu

    iChat.menu

    IrDA.menu

    Keychain.menu

    PCCard.menu

    PPP.menu

    PPPoE.menu

    Script Menu.menu

    Volume.menu

    How to do put these .menu's into effect. Example, the eject.menu, where do you find them and how do you put them in your menu?

    You can either double-click them or just drag and drop them onto the menubar.

    The question, as it was originally intended, was:



    Does iCal have one?



    Just goes to show that re-reading your post before hitting "Add Reply" can save you a lot of embarassment!

    I thought you'd meant iCal there. Hee hee.



    Anyhow, as you can see from my list, there is no iCal.menu. Perhaps you should submit this suggestion to Apple.

    Is there any way to remove one of the menus that was added? My brother recently discoverd the script menu, so he added it, but I don't ever use it. Do I delete the Script Menu.menu folder?

    To remove one hold apple and click and hold then drag it off the menu bar. Quite simple, damn Apple's good.

    Crikey. I *still* think it's hideous that some of them have ten or twelve or more things up there. Yeesh.

    Ever try taskmenubar in classic? I use it and it's great. All I have to do to get to an open app is just click on the icon in the top menubar once. If I click it twice, I get that app AND hide all other apps. Much easier than moving to the apple menu, clicking and then scrolling down to the app you want. Plus, I can just look at it anytime to see what's open.



    I think the menubar should be used more for these types of things. I wish Apple would set a section of it for 3rd party things.
