As much as I'd like to see it, I doubt it. It would be a complete surprise, though as most have anticipated this as an eventuality, it's not been anticipated in THIS update. It would be a pleasant surprise!

What I'm wondering is this: if we own an iPhone now, will we be allowed to turn it in and upgrade for free much like the iPhone to iPhone 3G? I was told that original owners were allowed to get the 3G for free (I never owned an original). Any thoughts?

Personally, I can't see Apple letting those of us that have had an iPhone 3G for the past year turn it in to upgrade, I hope there is the possibility for those that have purchased one in the past 30-60 days. That would seem reasonable.

Thankfully, my iPhone is company-provided. I have a tech-savvy employer who loves to have the newest gadgets, so I see myself getting one too (I'm the Director of IT, so I always get the cool new stuff right along with him since I have to support it). Because of this, I am really, really hoping (translation - on my knees praying) that the iTablet / Macbook Touch is announced too. I have mentioned the possibility of an Apple tablet to him, and he is just as excited at the possibility as I am. It would be a great company tool - and an awesome new toy for me too!

In response to the article and pic I linked to, I can see it as happening. Apple always likes to surprise, and this would definitely stop the Pre in its tracks!!

Like I said, I had heard about original iPhone users being allowed to upgrade for free to the iPhone 3G - all they had to do was turn in their original phone. We'll see what happens. Maybe AT&T will give a bit of a discount?

You lucky dog! I wish the Navy would provide me with a phone! As for the tablet - I hope that Apple announces it Monday, though I don't expect it. If anything, the supposed media event that Steve Jobs will likely make his "comeback" at may very well be about the Tablet. We'll see!

It would definitely blow the Pre away! I hope you're right!

There is another link on that page to some more pictures of a front-facing camera:

The green dot seems common but they aren't all in the same place so there's definite fakes in there. The second one clearly has a fake image on screen - either that or the girl has some really manly hands.

I kind of think it would be in Apple's best interests to say little to nothing of the iphone tomorrow. Loads of people will watch the keynote to hear about a new iphone but those people already want iphones. So a better focus would be on other products that they may not have considered.

Take a closer look. Particularly in the bottom left of the girl.

Ah yeah, of course the sent image is the smaller one.

Still the green dot position means at least one has to be fake and the green dot on the top one looks a bit too big and dull, even for a bad camera picture. I would expect the dot to be like the pin-point bright dot on the Mac isight and the second image looks closer.

Plus, the layout is more symmetric on the second one, I would prefer a more central green dot than one off to the side.

On the subject of the manly hand, either that hand is large or that iphone is a little smaller than usual. It's not much smaller so it could be the hand size that's doing it but I personally find the iphone is just a bit too big that it's awkward to hold. I have no doubt that women have trouble holding the iphone too. If there are 2 sizes, that would help address the problem. It's mainly holding it up to your ear.

Thanks for the "manly hand" compliment.

This is a fake I made - which I posted on MacRumors originally (and said it was a fake).

Actually I have very small hands. Could have been a rodent gynaecologist in fact!

The image seems to be doing a world tour of tech blogs.

Just wanted to imagine what video chatting would look like. I don't expect the new Phone will have video chat, but you never know.

Well, that clears that up I guess. It's a pretty decent mockup though.

Engadget have a link to some more pictures:

In those images, I think the black border looks worse than the chrome.

Unless your using the "Private Browsing" feature in Safari, shouldn't you just be able to go to your history?
