Iphone 3Gs Speakers getting blocked?

Hey guys, I just bought the iphone 3Gs yesterday and I've been trying to find out why they placed the speaker where it is now. Its impossible to play a game without getting your hands covering the speakers. On my previous ipod (Touch 2G), the speaker wasn't good, but at least it would not get covered by my hands, on the other hand the iphone gets covered by my hands so much that its sound becomes even less than my ipod. Are there any tips or suggestions for how to hold the iphone without blocking the speakers? Or should I just disable the game audio altogether. It seems like a waste considering everything else is great except the speakers position.

I usually play audio through headphones - I don't play games on the iphone really as I don't think there are any decent ones. But even headphones get in the way in landscape mode - if you hold it with the home button on the right. I reckon the ideal solution is a bluetooth headset or something as long as it's rechargeable.

Try flipping your iPhone so the speaker is on the other side, it depends on the game but a lot will invert 180 degrees.

I figured out the curling your finger below the iphone works, ( Saw it in a rolando instruction video), but do you guys normally play like that? With all your fingers except the thumbs, below the iphone curled sorta of like a gameboy?

Dude I noticed the same thing playing field runners- it completely blocks the sound. Not sure what to do... my fingers are too big.
