Hi all,

I know we’ve all seen this title before, but I always find it interesting to see what Mac applications people love and couldn’t live without. I had a simular thread going over at MacRumors and that came back with some great results (loads of apps I had not heard of before).

I have recently posted my top 25 on my blog. Be sure to check it out to get started:

No rules on price etc, just a list of great applications.

In alphabetical order, but not necessarily rated in that order:

    Adobe Acrobat Professional

    Carbon Copy Cloner

    ClamXav

    Cocktail

    Graphic Converter

MilkyWay (temporarily puts enlargement of picture on screen)

Pastor (Keeps passwords and security info)

R-Name (changes names in a file to consecutive numbers)

    SuperDuper

    TechTool Pro 5

What's Keeping Me (Gets rid of stuff that won't go away - e.g., stuff 'Trash' won't trash)

WindowDragon (Grabs a document anywhere so it can be dragged - not just

\t \tthe top and bottom edges. Also enlarges or diminishes a document from anywhere - not just from the lower right corner.)

and last but not least: MacSolitaire - great for killing time.

Ditto ... but that's not the point. I would not know what to do without GarageBand. There are other apps that work, but GB totally rocks. Windows 7 RC (BootCamp) thinks my USB Turntable is a microphone and I can't seem to fix it. I could live without Mac OS X if only Ubuntu was as easy to use. Then again, I'd still miss GB. Audacity is only second best.

    Welcome to the forums!

Hmmm Cram (though a bit spendy) is a good looking app. I may download a demo and check it out. Good use of icon colors.
