Are there any active chatrooms. I only know of two:-

"Appleinsider" - makimium 8-10 users US time only.

"Cocoadev" active GMT-8 users unknown.

Are there any others?

Why can't ichat connect to AOL chatrooms? is going to be added in the future?

iChat *does* connect to AOL IM chat rooms.

    That's exactly what they are.

I'm not sure what Addison means by those rooms being active only at certain times. They're active just when there are people in it. They're not like websites in that they are actually running on a server 24/7 regardless if anyone is visiting. If you go there and no one else is there, the chat room is active because you are there!

Does that clear it up a bit?

That said, there are probably hundreds of chat rooms out there at any one time. You just need the name of one (like appleinsider) and voila - you're there.

Brad if you go here: <a href="http://www.aim.com/community/chats.adp"; target="_blank">AOL Chatroom list</a>

.... and click on any of the chatrooms nothing will happen if you have just iChat on your drive and not AOL messenger...if you have AOL messenger and click it will load up....if you copy and paste the name of a chatroom in ichat it will just be empty while if your in AOL messenger the same room will be full...Try it!!

Here's the ones I know of:

    Appleinsider

Apple (not often visited, very new)

    Jaguar (usually quite crowded)

LEMchat (mostly consisting of a few regulars and a new guy only once in a while)
