Swap file change in OS X

I got some directions from a magazine showing one how to move the swapfile from the primary partition to another. I followed the directions but I don't see a vm directory in my second partition and when perform a cd and drag my second partition on it, it no longer gives me the same directory I had prior to performing the mod. It now gives me /Volumes/Mypartitionname \\1 which seems quite strange. The /Volumes/Mypartitionname/vm seems to be located in the primary partition.

Did I do something wrong?

Thanks in advance.

Why are you messing with your swap file? If you have enough RAM then it won't be used, and if you don't have enough RAM then it's going to be slow no matter what.

Hmmm... I tried doing it by hand through the Terminal like you did, and I fscked up too. Took me three tries (with reinstalls) to get it right. My advice: go to versiontracker.com and download Swap Cop or Swap Relocator.
