Does Apple/Mac G4 require a special DVD or CD Burner I am a new Apple user

You mean the round-base / articulated screen version of the iMac?
No... standard tray-loader, except that you'll need to transfer the faceplate from the stock unit to the new unit (so that it closes properly and looks right.)

Which Apple G4? iMac, PowerMac, iBook, PowerBook?
