I must have unticked something I shouldn't have upon installation...but now I can't use most terminal commands. How do I install the bit I need? When I insert the Jaguar disc, it says I already have OS X.2...gives me no options...
if you cant use most terminal commands, the somthing you must have unticked could have been the bsd system, that is, if you were refering to unticking somthing during installation
This happened to me too. I was trimming my OS X installation and I accidentally removed the "BSD Subsystem." After installing it, everything was back to normal.
You need to insert your OS X CD 1 (no need to start from the CD) and find the installer package to install the BSD subsystem. Double click on it and it'll open Installer and put BSD on your system. Hope this helps.

More info would really help here.
Are you unable to find where to type command? Or do you have a terminal window open and nothing happens?
If so, what commands are you trying?
If you reply with this info, I will do what I can to help!

<strong>Sounds like a path problem.</strong><hr></blockquote>
i agree. try this: 'echo $PATH', and report back on what you got.
