OK...so some people think GigaWire is FireWire 2 while others think it's a wireless FireWire of sorts. Some even think it's a way of interconnecting systems for distributed computing or some kind of expansion technology...

I'M CURIOUS TO KNOW WHAT YOU THINK GIGAWIRE? IS...

I don't think it's firewire2. Why rename it? HOTUSB or something would sound silly and confusing. Gigawire instead of FireWire2 is the same. Besides, PC users don't know what firewire is as of now (they know iLink) so why change the name.

Well, a lot I know don't. Even some Circuit City guys didn't know it. I had to say Sony iLink then "oh yea" they got it.

I'm sure you're right about the actual majority people not knowing 'firewire,' Actually, I think it's kind of odd how many PC people I know actually call it "firewire"

LOL, maybe it just in the south that people call it by iLink or IEEE 1394. Course I only know about 8 or so PC users so please don't think my experience is a scientific study on the usage of the term 'firewire'

It has something to do with wires, and something to do with a billion somethings.....

Other than that, I can be sure.
