iMac Patriot?

What about a model of iMac in a Patriotic theme?

Like a red white and blue model (CRT would look best I would say, or they could make one for each model??) where SOME (not all of course) of the procedes went to the families of victims of 9/11?

I know, Apple already did a lot for them (new iBooks for the kids who lost families) and was even selling a $500 iMac in NY, DC, and Penn. But I think that this could really sell, and even if Apple didnt make much profit, a LOT of people would get macs... BIG boost for marketshare...

Or is this just way too insensitive to the victims?

Actually not a bad idea if they were looking for something to do with any leftover stock of CRT iMacs *if* they are EOLed. FOr $500 bucks and say 50% of the proceedes going to the charity (as long as Bill O'reilly stays on Apple's ass and makes sure the cash goes where it needs to go ) I would pony up the $500. I always wanted an iMac anyway but could never really justify getting one. Something like that, with helping the families, having basically a collector's item not only in that it was limited but an EOLed model, but part of a product line that revolutionized computer design, and the fact that I always wanted one and it was a cheap price, definitly. You are onto something, my friend!

Bill O'Reilly?!!?!? No such thing as a no-spin zone, esp. on FOX or MSNBC or anywhere else I guess, dang I miss the BBC.

Patriotism is okay, but if the red, white and blue were sort of metallic or translucent it might be cool. Just the three colors really won't have alot of staying power though.

From the look of it, it sure seems like an easy thing to snap on custom colors. Has anyone gotten close enough to one to tell how the outer plastics are attached?

I'm so sick of all this compulsary commercial patriotic bullshit.

You mean to tell me that it takes a horriffic terrorist attack on a country for it's citizens to be proud and happy about living there? In six months when osama is dead and people realize, or atleast admit, that George Bush is still a dufus, all this pro-american marketting push is going to be very "yesterday."

Yeah, I'll put four giant tacky magnetic american flags, painted and cut out by hand by Chinese child laborers, on my giant mexican-built "american" SUV, currently being fueled by five gallons of middle-eastern oil for every half-mile I could've walked, so I can go down to my local apple store and buy the "proud to be an american" iMac Special Edition, built in taiwan, and then I'll do my patriotic duty and go down to mcdonals for lunch so I can eat a burger made from a cow that was raised in what was once a part of a south american rain forest, and die from heart disease when I'm 35.

    Yeah, America is so great...

    *sigh*

Change the dark grey color castings on the front, top, and back of the G4 on the left to Ice and you've got it! The one on the right would look boss too with matching blue color panels for the front & top
