Installing a new HD in my QS.

Today I will recieve my new HD. It's faster than my old and I want to use it as system-drive in my QS733 and the old as slave. I recon the installing part will be easy, but what about copying all my old files (adressbook, datafiles and so forth) from my old system-drive (OSX only) to my new system-drive? What about authority to do that? My old HD is divided into 3 partions. I also have a couple of other user accounts with some data-files I want to move to the new HD.

Thinking about using "carbon copy cloner", but don't know how it will deal with the old partions and users....

Any other tips will be useful.

Plz help my out instead of arguing about new PMs and PBs

And another thing that bothers me: What are the new nick-names on the new PB-line? MiniP, AluBook...?? <img src="graemlins/hmmm.gif" border="0" alt="[Hmmm]" />

Carbon Copy Cloner is what you need. It will clone the whole partition you have X on, users, everything.

The big boy is Lapzilla, I have no idea about the mini. Except maybe 'the mini'.

OK, now I installed the new system-HD. Most pref-files and so forth was easiely copied from my old partions to my new HD. Except data-files from other users. How do I access those files? That is: Specific user files on the old systemHD.

My favorite-button on my Mac-system: The "switch-application-button" on my Logitech MX500-mouse programmed to "hide application". D**n it's good.

Listen to BobW, it's almost impossible to manually copy a system successfully.

(log in as root, or copy them from the terminal with the sudo command if you haven't enabled the root user)
