Finder bug?

in macOS edited January 2014
Using Mac OS X 10.2.3 768MB RAM on G3 imac 500.

When viewing the Hard Drive in Column view I can click on all of the folders in the root of the hard drive except the Users folder. It seems to default to the hard drive on the left. (I tried this many times, through restarts etc.)

I can click on Application, Applications (Mac OS 9) etc etc.

One minute it works when you open a new window another time not.

Also, When I check the auto login box (i am the only user) it never logs me in automatically through restarts.

Anyone any ideas?

Thank you

Hmm, I'm on 10.2.3 on a 17" iMac and it works ok for me. Maybe you should ask in the genius bar?

I'd run Disk Util and Repair Permissions.

    /Applications/Utilities/Disk Utility

Sorry guys, I tried the repair permissions but it still happens. Pretty annoying too. <img src="graemlins/oyvey.gif" border="0" alt="[oyvey]" />

try repairing permissions from the jag CD (start up from the CD then from the apple menu select "run disc utility"

if that doesn't work you may have to FSCK the disc it really sounds like a permissions problem

i am running 10.2.3 as well and I dont see it...
