Exploded Macbook Pro 15" charger

Hello. First post here, though I've been visiting the site for a long time.

The other night I put my mac on to charge overnight and went to bed.

I woke up and it wasn't charging. I got my sisters charger and it worked fine.

I pulled the cable out and found black smoke on the connector.

I just opened it up and took photos of what it looks like - I know that this will have voided any warranty if there was any still on it.

Something caught fire or exploded.

I need everyone's help on what action to take.

    Go buy a new one.

If you had any desire for Apple to replace it free, then you shouldn't have cracked it open... it's all on you now.

I would take it into an Apple store and give it to them not expecting a free replacement. If there are defects they aren't aware of or a bad batch, it may help them improve the design. Exploding adaptor are dangerous. You never know, they may look kindly on you and give you a free one despite you opening it up. They can be bought cheaply on eBay if they don't.

When I said what action do I take, I meant do I send the photos in?

You may want to keep them just in case when you go in.
