No bubble to burst...there is a market,as I have said. You are right, The PS3 (the number 3 console on the market?) is indeed a BluRay player and that would raise the number to 16%. That doesn't change that it will never hit DVD level penetration nor that it is likely the last format for optical media. Many people did not buy BR or HD-DVD because they didn't want to go with the loser. Now many are holding off of BR because online distribution is growing so dramatically. For many, upconverting is good enough.

None of which makes it a must have feature for a PC purchase.

1.) Search "steam" in App Store and iFog is nowhere in site. iSteam and many other names with steam do.

2.) The Google app is called Steamy Window Pro not Foggy Window Pro.

3.) The Israelis have no connection at all to Steamy Window Pro

4.) The T-Mobile ad clearly shows steam not fog.

Conclusion : Sounds like a publicity stunt. Where's balloon boy?

I watched the ad with no audio, so if a voiceover said "steam" then I'm with you...but considering that the phone prominently showed the Golden Gate bridge in San Francisco, I think the connection people made was "fog" - iFog shows up in the search results.

So this is how it's going to be, huh? Teckstud will hijack each and every thread to flog whatever he's on about this week.

How about some moderation? This is a thread about how an ad for a rival platform drove sales of an app for the iPhone.

There's plenty of Blu-ray contention in other threads. Please. For the children. For my sanity. Don't let Apple Insider become Teckstud's personal bitchfest.

Oh, and while I'm complaining-- putting the little crazy guy at the end of every one your posts may be your "style", but it makes you seem like you're a little, well, crazy.

I mean, you wouldn't end every statement you make in person by crossing your eyes and going "GLLAARRRGGG!!!" would you?

No- It just shows how utterly stupid your mocking of a t-Mobile ad is when Apple has just a many lame aps in their advertising as well.

???? I am the one who's posted the only 2 posts directly related to this thread regarding iFog's claim that t-Mobile's Steam app has increased their sales.

Stop your BS stupid highjacking mantra. I didn't bring up mocking t-Mobile ads nor state ridiculous claims about iMacs or Windows 7 first . Re-read the WHOLE thread over again.

What have you contibuted? . NADA.

Here they are again in case you missed them the first time:

    1.)

iSteam is better and free when I got it.

Did iSteams sales increase? Seems like these guys are taking a little too much credit or using it to claim new buzz for their year old app.

Getting excited about optical media support. How very 90's. Sort of cute.

Software like Nero has had Blu ray support for a few years now. Also Windows users can get a blu ray drive as an upgrade for about 200.00.

Again- nothing contributing to the thread at all - just inane coments from the jackaddabox.

So typical. It would benefit YOU to go back and read the thread and see who is the one mocking.

The original post I was responding to and not mine was:

I couldn't help noticing how pathetic and basic the apps are that they show off in MyTouch ads. The steam app (cool, yes, but a top app to promote the device?). One that shows pictures of mouths so you can hold them in front of your face (which the iPhone also had long ago). And a really, REALLY sad looking game: whac-a-mole, looking like it was a beginner Flash tutorial! Oh, and choosing a custom wallpaper--to make it "yours"--as phones have done for years.

Only you would think that's not mocking t-Mobile. Ever hear of reading comprehension 101?

WTF? After seeing that commercial if I was interested in such a app, the word I would search for is fog, not steam.

Oh is that how it tranlates from your native language using your iPhone app translator?

For french I always thought vapeur meant steam and broillard meant fog.

I'm sure no one meant to offend you by mocking T-Mobile. OK, let's be fair then and mock the iPhone commercials.

    There's an app for that

In all seriousness, I think this forum has a great flaw, in that I can do three things with regards to a particular user. I can

    1: View Public Profile

    2: Send a Private Message

    3: Find More Posts

What I can not do is Ignore!

I dearly want the option to simply ignore a particular user. As in, their posts do not show up in my list of posts. I don't believe in banning someone for being a one dimensional idiot, but I certainly think we should have the right to more easily ignore each other. Honestly, I think this would be a much more civil place if we could.
