New iPhone (not 3 GS)?
I heard a rumor about a new iPhone supposedly to be released around Christmas time.
Has anyone picked up any information about such a release?
This would be out of the normal update schedule and so it would only make sense to me if it were something "completely new", perhaps based on Apple's in house ARM project.

Anything's possible, but it seems unlikely. Apple has adhered to a summer major upgrade schedule for the iPhone so far, with additional major OS updates coming in the fall and winter. So, not out of the question that there will be a substantiative software release later this year, but new hardware would be surprising.
