some weeks, yes... but i find that a bit, well.. mind boggling. It must be an average.

I live about 3 blocks away from one of the coolest shopping districts anywhere in the US... everyone I know controls themself mostly- nobody buys stuff every week...

however, i guess if you average it out ...

    still

Man, I spend that in about a month.

I'm just not a clothes horse kinda guy. The basics: Levi's, white T-shirts, some pullovers, some button shirts (I LOVE this time of year because I love my thick, cozy flannel, untucked, of course...), a couple of sweaters.

I'll see a cool shirt or something at Target or Old Navy (honestly, about the only two places I buy clothes...wait a minute, they ARE the only two places I buy clothes) and snag it.

But it has to be something that's really incredible and can't get anywhere else and is in danger of selling out, OR the price just has to be sweet as pie. I'm not about to drop some ridiculous price on a shirt or sweater, just because it looks cool.

But I've also gotten good at being practical and thinking ahead and learning to recognize true desire and utility from impulsive "gotta have it" urges. Just tonight, for example, I saw about five cool shirts at Target, but talked myself out of them, even though I totally had the money.

    Of course, there's always tomorrow

My gawd. I pretty much kept the same wardrobe all through high school. It cost less than $500. I still wear most of that stuff.

Now, computer stuff...maybe I spend that much in different places.

Holy crap... if I ever spend $2288 on clothes in one year, it'll only be because I've won the lottery.

I still have a couple sweatshirts I wear that are some four years old. <img src="graemlins/bugeye.gif" border="0" alt="[Skeptical]" /> I suppose once you stop "growing up" that as long as you wash your clothes the right way they can last a long time. Of course, I'm on the upper limit for this "teenage" thing since I'm quickly nearing 20.
