Top 5 TV Series' - Your faves

The rules are that the series had to have been planned as an indefinite run (no miniseries' or TV movies). My 5 in no particular order:



Ed - Still on NBC. Very honest, funny, witty.

Cupid - Short-lived on ABC a few yrs. back. Again, funny, witty.

Seinfeld - Of course.

The West Wing - NBC. Very intelligent, informed, well acted show (even though I'm Republican and they're all Dems)

Knight Rider - You've gotta love a talking T-Bird with bullet-proof plating!



EDIT: You might say that I REALLY enjoy Wednesday nights: Both Ed & West Wing are on back-to-back.

    5. My So Called Life- While it lasted. Better by far than the Dawson's Creek style drivel it spawned. Come back, Claire!



    4. ER- At it's best a total emotional rollercoaster.



    3. Seinfield- Other people can be as self absorbed and neurotic as me? Whew!



    2. X-Files- First few seasons. Most literate TV show ever, IMHO.



    1. Simpsons- Funny each time out for how many years now?

    Thought so. Mind you, I think I'm the only person who found Sports Night funny. It really didn't need that sometime laughter track.

    (Just had "Yada Yada Yada" on TV1 down under - 4 days non-stop of every single Seinfeld episode... detox was a bitch.)



    Side note: was cool to see 9 seasons of Apple history/development in 4 days.

    we watch sportsnight occassionally--i actually find it funny.

    but alot of the things are funny late at night...except that damn chris wild guy...hes just an idiot...

    - NYPD Blue (paricularly the Jimmy Smits era)

    - The X Files (duh...)

    - Seinfeld (STILL can make me laugh out loud)



    Hmmm. I think that's it, really. I like "The O'Reilly Factor" and "The Crocodile Hunter", but I don't really consider them episodic TV like the ones above.



    There are actually WAY more things on TV right now that I absolutely can't stand and can't believe made it on the air (actually, I can...).



    But the three listed above: I can sit down, anytime, anywhere, and watch them and enjoy them as though I'm seeing them for the very first time (even though "Blue" and "Files" have slipped BADLY from their high point of about 2-3 years ago. Still at their absolute worst, they mop the floor with most of the bullcrap considered good and "must see").



    DOH! I forgot: "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation"!

    how could I forget sports night and thirtysomething. The bad thing about Aaron Sorkin moving on to West Wing is that there are no new Sports Night episodes, oh well at least its on comedy central now, though I've seen every episode about twice, maybe three times.
