It's one thing if someone opens a device and does something which breaks it.
It's another thing entirely if someone opens a device and does something which does not damage it, and the device later fails because of a manufacturing defect.
In the latter case, the warranty should not be voided, and it should be illegal for a manufacturer to void a warranty in such cases.

Besides, someone said what if the 'sensor' is already damaged when leaving the fabs.... I think it's a legitimate issue... How would we know??
