Connecting Iphone to a portable stereo through usb !!

Hello Everyone,

Is it possible to connect my Iphone 3GS to portable stereo CD player with just the USB port?

I have tried by just plugging it in to the usb port and turning my Ipod on - but no music comes out of the speakers.

Although I can see it is playing the song on the Iphone.

Am I doing something wrong or is it just not possible?

No you need a 3.5 mm plug to AUX adapter which can either be plugged into a dock or the iPhone's 3.5 mm socket or you could use an FM transmitter if the stereo doesn't have AUX in.

If tech spec says "iPod ready with USB input" it can be connected w/out aux-in to usb adapter.

Portable CD players like that are quite rare.

JVC RV-NB50 stereo with an iPod dock

But there're tons of car audio systems, which are "iPod Ready with USB input".
