Chick Hearn's streak ends at 3338 games
Chick Hearn, the LA Lakers' only play-by-play announcer ever (42 years in LA), tonight ends a 36-year streak. For the past 36 years, he has announced every single Laker game, sick or not. The streak is only that short because weather grounded a flight 36 years ago.
Even among non-Laker fans, Chick is regarded as one of -- if not the -- best PBP announcers ever. He practically invented the art of basketball announcing.
