Well....yesterday I said I got involved in some projects with CMT. Now today comes to another one....

Got a phone call from the guy in New York. He told me there will be three animation projects coming to his studio and he asked me if I am interested on doing more texturing stuff. I said of course.

Then.....he told me to get a passport as soon as possible. They want me to fly down to New York for three weeks. They are going to give me some very intensive training on Maya 4 Unlimited, Softimage XSI 2.0, and RENDERMAN!!!!!

I will be staying in their facilities so I don't have to pay anything for accomondation

Beside the training....they want me to fly down there is to introduce me to their business partners (CMT is one of them)......

then we will have to talk about how to get me work in the states.....

But also....they are going to give me $6000 US budget for me to get some fast computer so that I can do the tutorials on my own if I have to....Think G5, and Dual 1800XP Athlon....that would be a killer combo

Hm....next years seems it's going to be a fine year to me.....after over 18 months of staying in the dark tunnel....finally see some light

Cool  I was looking at getting a job in NYC. I don't know if I'm that hip on living there but when I saw the ad I said "wtf? May as well find out what the offer.".

Renderman does not run on Macs. Better get a PeeCee (ouch!) Linux for Leonis!

Waaaaa-hooo! Do it up right, brother. At least one of us is getting some good employment type news! How's that for an early Christmas present?

By the way, I just got a hold of the Canucks' Alternate Jersey and it is the coolest jersey design I have seen in years. Sweeeet! And they traded away that goony bastard Brashear for a real skill player (Hlavac). Nice! I love these small market Canadian teams like Vancouver and Edmonton. Toronto and Ottawa can bite me. Montreal is like the Yankees in baseball...just can't root for them, but I respect them.

This is great news Leonis! Great to hear a company sees your talents and willing to train/compensate you too!

Sounds like the job front may be getting better...

I'm sending more resumes than before and I hope something comes down the pike real soon...my unemployment benefits run out in January.

Congrats Leonis, I know what its like to dream of employment...

In fact I have been unemployed for a couple months, since I got laid off. Since I just got my degree I don't have much industry experience... Everything sucked. Everyone I talked to spoke of how awful the market was....

But today, I received and signed an offer and am not employed once again. Its a cool, new web design firm with some decent clients. And, get this, I'm Lead Programmer. Beautiful! Anyhow, it all came together over the past week. Fast! And it all got resolved just a bit ago. What a great X-Mas present!

And I am 50 words from finishing my last exam before christmas. 10 pages on Habermas Discurs Ethics and Luhmann. And its snowing outside. First white christmas in perhaps 15 years. Things are great!

The question now is what we should do with the money we get from selling the right to the movie to Disney?

It's about effing time!! Major props to you Leonis!! I still can't believe how someone as talented as you could have attracted so little interest for so long!! Glad to see that perhaps there is justice and equality in this world, where talent and skill does get rewarded accordingly.

Do you need one? I thought that Canadians didn't require them to travel to the U.S. Or is it just something you need to gain employmnent in The States?

Before Sep 11 all you need is either the birth certificate or the citizenship ID.

But after that attack the custom and border are very strict. No passport, no border crossing....

Really? I had no idea it got that strict? Just this summer my sister (who lives in Niagra Falls) crossed the boarder with absolutely no I.D., I guess she had a trustworthy face or something ...

DoctorGonzoRegarding the Passport, he'll need it to obtain work authorization (assuming he's going to work here legally).

You'll get to visit 26 Federal Plaza ... with all the kind & helpful INS workers ... either that or their impatient, rude & discruntled. It's a lovely way to get aquinted with the US!!!
