I didn't restrict my search that way, a Google search should be able to find it either way, in the headline or in the article body.

Jeff, Google is far from being perfect. I've read an article on a Monday, gotten into a discussion about the subject on a Tuesday, and couldn't find the article in Google, no matter how I worded the search. It happens more often than it should. I can guarantee that if I say I've read an article, I have, whether or not it's available somewhere, or can be easily found, is a different question.

I've also got numerous articles bookmarked that are not available anymore. They've been moved into private databases. A couple of years ago IBM did research which showed that more than half the web pages were in a "dark" part of the internet, and couldn't be accessed by most people, and that many were lost altogether.

And as I've given another article that says pretty much the same thing, it's not something that I made up.

I'm not saying you haven't read it or you're making it up, I like to read stuff for myself.

And Apple isn't getting most of their sales from the US: in the last quarter for example, Apple sold near 1200K Macs outside the Americas, and 1250K Macs in the Americas (including all North and South Americas countries) so most of their Mac sales are not coming form the US alone; for iPhones and iPods the US share of sales is even lower.

The context is clear, if someone mentions Apple Stores being common you know they are talking about the US. I don't have to qualify my comment and account for a reseller in Cambodia who might be reading this site.

Apple does more sales in the US than any other single country they operate in, and by a large margin.

Sol is correct about one thing though. While we are very happy to have members from all over the world, it's true that by far, the greatest number are based here in the USA. Because of that, we tend to think USA, at least most of the time. So when someone says that there are a lot of Apple stores around, you should be thinking; Oh, he means in the USA.

It's not meant to insult anyone, or to slight where they live, or Apple's sales outside of the USA. When I was in the UK, people would talk to me in a way that clearly meant; in the UK. Not true here in the States. It didn't bother me though, because I understood where they were coming from.

Don't let it bother you. Just mention that as a reminder, Apple stores aren't as prevalent outside of the States (yet!)

I took my i$ in today with the color inconsistency problem. They didn't even bother to fire it up to check it out. They just swapped it out for a new one, no questions asked. Now it may help that I shop there often and am easily recognized. I buy a lot of Apple crap. But frankly, I think they are just on top of the problem, and are taking good care of customers with this problem. If anyone is having the same problem, now is the time to get it taken care of.

    Apple rocks!
