American Airlines Flight 63

The Flight attendents on this plane definitely did a good job in discovering this man had a bomb in his shoes. Imagine what could have happened if it had gone undetected for maybe even a half an hour more?
What's worse is this question: How many more are there out right now, on planes? Was this an isolated incident, or a planned attack like September 11?
Was it designed solely to remind Americans that we are still at war, and that travelling for the holidays by plane isn't as safe as you'd want to believe? Or was it just some nut who was going to kill himself any way and wanted to take a bunch of people with him on his way out?
This is truly a disturbing story. It's one of the worst I've heard since September 11.

"It emerged that earlier this month, the US authorities warned airliners of the possibility that hijackers might try to hide weapon components in their shoes."
Gotta find the positive in everything. So glad nothing serious happenend.

The guy was a Sri Lankan "national" according to French police.

They're saying the French authorities stopped him the first time but didn't get what he was up to.
<strong>The police are saying that it was for real explosives. Now they are making everyone take off their shoes and run them thru the scanner. I'm glad I'm not in those lines. At least those paranoid travelers will have a chance to use their gas masks.
It seems to be only in Boston that they are doing that. "Please arrive at the airport 10 hours before your flight and bring latex gloves." Ouch!
Actually, you don't have to arrive 10 hours early because no one is flying out of Logan. After all of the security problems at Logan, would you go there?
Seriously though. Manchester Airport in Manchester, NH is getting much more traffic than they usually get over the holiday season. It's supposed to have shorter lines, tighter security, and cheaper flights. Why bother with Logan at all?
