The only subways I've used mine in are NYC and DC. It works fine in both.
But in both cases, the respective cities (or subway operators) have installed repeater antennas in the tunnels... a requirement for ANY cellphones to work underground.
NYC TRansit: NO SERVICE works inside the tunnel! but when the train is outside YES there is service.
PENN STATION: Forget about it!
Basement of my house: Yes, but the service is not reliable.
Keep in mind that every basement is different in construction and location.
I could swear my iPhone worked in the NYC subways.... yes the underground portions. Perhaps I was thinking of the tunnels? (Holland and Lincoln?) Either way, I'm always a passenger, so I suppose I could have them confused... (perhaps it works in SOME nyc Subway tunnels?)
based on your inputs..im giving it a whirl( i caved in) screw VZW..Before you guys make fun of me..i KNOW a new one comes this summer...its ok ill buy it full price i've held out for too long..enough was enough..
