Make sure to use protection when...
...transporting your new 13-inch Macbook Pro.
I bit the bullet and purchased my MBP today! I found a very technical way to deal with the issue of the lackluster specs on the 13-inch...I'm going to tell myself when I go to bed at night that there is an i5 or i7 chip inside. Hey, let's face it, I'll never know the difference.
That said, I'm wondering if anyone has any good advice on a case. My initial thought is that I'd like a VERY SLIM, VERY LIGHT sleeve, as this will enable me to toss the MBP into any bag or backpack I might be using at the time, rather than limiting myself to a backpack or shoulder bag made for a laptop. So, I'm mainly interested in suggestions for something slim and light that has PERSONALITY. I'd rather avoid the standard black neoprene if possible. I'd love something that says Think Different. I think that's a very catchy phrase for some reason...
Any suggestions from the AI gurus of all things Apple?

I've been chucking a PowerbookG4 in backpacks, luggage, car seats, floorboards, etc with no "protection" whatsoever for the past 5 years and the thing still looks great. A couple small dents and scratches... but it's not worth anything to re-sell anyway, so as long as it works, who cares?
Why bother?

an Aluminum, right?
I know a guy that had one of the painted kind, (titanium AFAIK), and it's looked horrible after less than a year. But he bought his in '01, so things could've changed since then...

Yes aluminum... they really are quite a durable design... even the finish.
Them aluminium cases (even pre-unibody) hold up darn well. Titanium (Powerbook G4) one had stuff flaking off after a few years, IIRC... But I loved mine. Held up alright for a year plus that I had it.
