  Dude don't beat yourself up so bad..you obviously have some required talent or you would not be in this field at all. Just turn your mind set to a positive thought and move forward with your training. I wish I knew half of what you and alot of other posters here know

  Come on Leonis, be more optimistic. You've got plenty of skills that I wish I had. You're a very creative guy too, if you weren't I'm sure you wouldn't have been offered the job. Just relax a little and things will be fine.

  I think I can relate to this Leonis. After 19 months of no real work and then a whole new work load hits you. You feel overwhelmed and maybe unmotivated. If they are giving you training and have faith in you then just relax and let it all in. Prioritize and stay focused.

  Leonis, look at it this way -- maybe there are certain specific technical areas where you need training, but that's the easy part. Think of all the guys who'd love to have this chance, but who don't have the artistic skills. Those guys are stuck. So you can take a class or two if necessary to get up to speed and then you'll be fine!

  Don't sweat it, Leonis. Every significant job has a steep learning curve, and they all require you to get up to speed. It's not that you suck in particular, it's just the nature of things in general.

  Being a professional graduate student I can tell you one of the luxuries of graduate school is that you can uncover your weaknesses and eliminate them. Hopefully before the qualifying exam and the dissertation defense.
  
  
  
  For me that was stats and linear algebra. I wouldn't say I'm great at that stuff now but it no longer holds me back.
