Actually, the new owner (former owner of the Marlins), made a team that was the fastest ever to win a World Series. Plus, the way that the fans are charged the highest ticket prices in baseball, the team isn't going to run out of money like the Marlins did after they won.
Hopefully, this will be the year where everyone is healthy, and they have a shot at winning.
To the Boston-area folks looking to go see the Sox this year, take a look in this past Sunday's Globe. There's an order form for packs of four tickets (four games, 1 ticket each, that is), with discounts that make them cheaper than last year's tickets, and maybe even the previous year's. Also, all the selections have a game against the hated Yankees, a hard ticket to find later in the year. Worth checking out.
Congrats to the Patriots, too. i'm not a real football fan, but they're fun to watch.
Ticket prices are outrageous this year, discount or not. If I'm lucky, I might go see one game this year. If I'm really lucky, maybe 2. It's really a shame.
Plus, I wouldn't call the Yankees 'hated'. It's always some great baseball when we play them. On that note, I'm glad that we're playing them more times this year than in the past. Now if we could only get rid of interleague play, we'd be back to some serious baseball again.
Yo, you're red sox better resign Cone. He's the sole man responsible for making your season almost interesting. Still possibly the best baseball game I have ever seen in person when Cone went up against Mussina in the near perfect game. beautiful. Cone is da man

No he wasn't. The Sox' new owner was the second owner of the Marlins. The first one, Wayne Huzenga (I know I'm spelling his name wrong), was the one who built and then dismantled that World Series team. Joe Henry, from what I've heard, was a good owner. He just bought into a bad situation down in Miami.
