(h.264+ ogg or h.264) + flv for porn site

Hello everyone, I'm just new to here and would say hi to you all first.

Since the introduction of iPad, i came up with idea about creating a porn site specialized for iPad (I've registered my domain name, which is my login name). I see the potential of html 5 video and the intimacy of iPad, they can sure generate certain level of chemistry......

Now my core problem is to using h.26+ogg with flash or just using h.264 with flash. I just want to dump Flash, but the reality is Internet Explorer is still the majority of computing world. But when it comes to ogg, it's a hard decision to take. Firefox only support ogg at the moment, I'll surely leave FF users behind.

Any idea?

I think you're an absolute idiot if you don't make a site "for the iPad" navigable from the iPad. By the way, I think if you polled only iPad users, you'd definitely find that Internet Explorer is NOT the most common browser.

To put it bluntly, you're either pulling someone's leg or you're simply not very bright.

I think he just wants his site to be accessible from other computers besides iPad...

I'd say that Ogg is not worth it, so just do h.264 + flv, where flv is h.264 itself anyway... Flash will work fine for IE and Firefox, or anywhere that doesn't support video tag @ h.264...

Just do some minor Javascript-based feature detection...

    Last I checked:

    - h.264 was supported on mac, windows, and linux.

    - It performs better than any commonly-used codec

    - If you are trying to make it an iPad site, h.264 is it.

Default to h.264, and use Flash for explorer users. Youtube does it, so can you.

I still don't get it. If you're making a site specialized for the iPad, you don't need to waste resources to make it accessible for IE users. Concentrate on making it specialized for iPad.
