Funny story. I lived in a old-but nice neighborhood where the homes where very close together and looked very similar.
At least once every year or two I would have a drunk show up (around 2:30 A.M.) wondering why his key didn't work and what was I doing in his house. They would argue up and down how I was in their house even though the furniture in the front room didn't match. Threatening to call the law would usually sober them up enough to walk away and reconsider.
Made me a hero with the wife chasing away those "bad" people.
Letting drunk strangers into your house at 2:30 in the morning made you a hero with your wife?!
what frequencies does it support, maybe find out if tmobile has a chance.
The 5th UMTS band, not listed on their Tech Specs page is Band VI which is primary used by NTT docomo in Japan, their largest carrier. This makes more sense than T-Mobile USA on several levels.
I'm sure someone can do so PS magic to figure out that number but that is beyond my ken. Though I'm sure it's not a CDMA. There just aren't enough chips to support two completely disparate network types in that device.
Note: If you look at iFixit's diagram of the 3GS logic board you see a different TriQuint chip for each of the UMTS bands. (site down or I'd link to the image)
PS: Wow there with the huge image. Forum etiquette please.
To obtain one of the first iPhone 4 smartphones for teardown, Kyle of the iFixit team flew to Japan with a tent, planning to camp out in front of the Ginza Apple Store. FedEx ended up delivering early shipments to some users two days in advance, making the trip unnecessary.
Apple iPhone 4 owners (who got their unit delivered earlier than expected) to iFixit: "Nyah.. nyah.. nyaah..!"
great looking phone with features I want. now I need to get the wife on board so she won't flip when i buy the reserved item tomorrow.
That's a spot on image you've posted there..
It's important to use a good lookin hand model, ugly (yes, that includes hairy hands) hand model makes the unit look bad.. Well, in the case for Apple iPhone there, it looks just a little bit bad.. LOL
Impressive. I love iFixit teardowns. And it's always great to look at how much Apple (or any other company) can pack in there.

State of the art in commercial product design. Just amazing.

Also, glad someone decided to get a manicure before shooting these pictures.....for a change.

so can we tell why SJ told FCC to withhold info on this iPhone??? or just marketing hype.
Oh, found the Chipworks piece - nope, no Marvell.
On the logic board you can see a TriQuint chip and model number.
Ahh...
But, actually there are 2 TriQuint chips-- the one on the far left has a blurred label.
Sorry, big image needed here:
Now, if you google Triquint CDMA, you get:
http://www.triquint.com/prodserv/mar...-cdma-evdo.cfm
Which shows a list of parts for CDMA support.
Maybe, it's in there???
.
The new A4 part number is 339S0108, the module has 512MB on-board RAM.

You mislabeled iFixit's images. This is probably not the only error.
