That's some logic board. NOW is anyone gonna ask why they didn't jump to 64GB of storage? Where would they have put it?

Impressive. I love iFixit teardowns. And it's always great to look at how much Apple (or any other company) can pack in there.

They would argue up and down how I was in their house even though the furniture in the front room didn't match. Threatening to call the law would usually sober them up enough to walk away and reconsider.

Made me a hero with the wife chasing away those "bad" people.

Letting drunk strangers into your house at 2:30 in the morning made you a hero with your wife?!

what frequencies does it support, maybe find out if tmobile has a chance.

so can we tell why SJ told FCC to withhold info on this iPhone??? or just marketing hype.

    Ahh...

But, actually there are 2 TriQuint chips-- the one on the far left has a blurred label.

    Sorry, big image needed here:

Now, if you google Triquint CDMA, you get:

    http://www.triquint.com/prodserv/mar...-cdma-evdo.cfm

Which shows a list of parts for CDMA support.

    Maybe, it's in there???

What is missing in this short Appleinsider report is that iPhone includes new version of Apple A4 mobile processor module.

The new A4 part number is 339S0108, the module has 512MB on-board RAM.

The 5th UMTS band, not listed on their Tech Specs page is Band VI which is primary used by NTT docomo in Japan, their largest carrier. This makes more sense than T-Mobile USA on several levels.

I'm sure someone can do so PS magic to figure out that number but that is beyond my ken. Though I'm sure it's not a CDMA. There just aren't enough chips to support two completely disparate network types in that device.

Note: If you look at iFixit's diagram of the 3GS logic board you see a different TriQuint chip for each of the UMTS bands. (site down or I'd link to the image)

PS: Wow there with the huge image. Forum etiquette please.

That's a spot on image you've posted there..

It's important to use a good lookin hand model, ugly (yes, that includes hairy hands) hand model makes the unit look bad.. Well, in the case for Apple iPhone there, it looks just a little bit bad.. LOL

Indeed, it is amazingly so compact..!

To all of other mobile manufacturers out there (yes, that includes you Google): "Dear lazy mobile manufacturers, this is how you should've made smartphone. We want slim and compact phone, please stop making fat and ugly looking phones you lazy dorks.."

You know AI, if you're going to attribute work to someone else, don't misrepresent it.

You mislabeled iFixit's images. This is probably not the only error.
