I'm not happy at this at all. When it comes to money, it's ok to be evil if you're Google.

More like, they fought as long and as hard as possible to keep things the way they thought was right. Unfortunately the Chinese government has put an end to Google's sidestepping of the issue. So Google was faced with a choice, either leave China entirely or abide by Chinese Laws. Personally, I think they did everything possible and have only conceded to government demands after it was absolutely necessary.

Calling them "evil" for this seem like an emotionally motivated tantrum. But yeah, this doesn't make me happy either.

You seem to be confused about what google is doing. Go back and read the article you linked to. Google is censoring nothing. They have decided to eliminate searching rather than censor the search results.

No I'm a talking about Google censoring search results in China for four years before pulling out. And even after pulling out of China, Google is still censoring search results in 23 other countries.

    Google is evil.

Once again, the article you've linked to doesn't say what you're claiming it says.

According to the article you've linked to, Google isn't censoring. Rather it is those 23 countries that are blocking access to google services. Google does filter search results, but the article and statistic you're citing doesn't match up to what you're claiming.

And since you're so against censorship, you must think that filtering out child porn search results is evil too. Right? Or is it just that your own set of morals is the only correct set of morals?

Read the article again and if you're really that ignorant, you can go to google and search for itand hope they didn't filter the search results.

Ok, I read the article again. It still doesn't say what you claim it says. Those other articles might, but I don't really feel like reading them and continuing this debate. Google is evil. I'm ignorant. Anyone else you want to insult while you're at it?

There's are certainly legitimate criticisms of google. But your tact of seems to be to hurl insults and to incorrectly characterize everyone involved in order to further an agenda. It pleases me that there appears to be few people who would enjoy or benefit from such an interaction. Hence the lack of replies to this vindictive thread.
