Dickhead sports anchors like Jim Lampley - what a douche bag. I wish Bill Clement had given into his urge during the games and turned and knocked Lampley senseless. What a wind-bag retard of a commentator. Nice hair too.

Sports announcers / commentators who over-hype a game before it is played, thereby guaranteeing it won't be as exciting and memorable as they claim it will be (congrats you wily Canucks, btw - bastards. )

Software companies who make CD mastering programs that cannot create an OS 9 or OS X boot CD without causing minor brain hemorrhaging and a half-dozen coasters first.

OS Companies who are TOO F*CKING STUPID TO PUT A SIMPLE BOOT CD FUNCTION INTO THEIR DISK BURNING UTILITIES.

Truck Driving idiots who live in the suburbs and tailgate every chance they get.

People who refuse to at least match the speed limit while driving on one-lane highways.

People who refuse to get off your bumper on multi-lane highways, even though you're going 78 mph and there is no one in the lane next to you (dick HEADS!)

Software companies who tell you "the wait is over" for a newly announced product, even though no one will have a copy for at least 30 days.

Did I mention the Boot CD thing?

Clip shows (I saw a really wretched Star Trek one on TNN today)

Television in general (special hate going out to SciFi, the WB, MTV and VH1, the WB, that ad scanner in my town, the WB, the WB, and that one channel with the frog)

Apple hardware incompatibilities so wretched that they MAKE ME WANT TO CRY

    Commercials

That ****er from NYU in those Dell commercials

That one column in the USA Today Sunday supplement that used to be Parade that writes about famous people with lobotomies and bad wardrobes

    Comics:

    Garfield

    the Born Loser

    Andy Capp

    The Family Circus

    Marvin

    Blondie

    MacAddict

    The WB

    Popular Science

    Walter J. Hickel

    Overly stupid 'environmentalists'

People who drive SUVS (I HATE YOU SO MUCH! DIE DIE DIE! ROLL OVER IN YOUR HIGH CENTER-OF-GRAVITY MONSTROSITIES AND BURN, YOUR TERRIBLE SCREAMS MINGLING WITH THE CRACKLING OF YOUR FLESH AND POLYESTER JACKET AS A THOUSAND SEALS CLAP FOR JOY AT YOUR 9 MILES-PER-GALLON DEMISE! I SLASH YOUR TIRES WITH MY MIND! [that's telekinesis, Kyle] )

    Radio stations (grrrrr...)

Whores on TV (I am talking to YOU, Aguilera!)

    And that's all for now.

You should move to the East Coast. Over here people look at you funny if you are religious. I think that these are the same people in the end, though.

People that claim to be open-minded yet are as closed as Nazi fascists (but in different ways) are the ones that annoy me. So that boils down into a few basic character & politcal types:

    - Hard line Democrats

    - 50% of the Greens I know

    - Militant Lesbians & feminists

    - IT dept people at a certain university in central New Jersey.

Here are some things that annoy me incredibly

    1) Paper. I hate paper more than anything else in the world. If I ever get steaming furious, it's because of paper. I think it's the only thing on Earth that gets me visibly mad.

    2) Current PDA's. Because they're so bad I'm forced to use paper. In fact, I hate paper so much that I am going to spend the next two years (hopefully) starting a concept company (TDNS) and designing a PDA product. It's the PDA TDNS.

    3) Mario Kart 64. Yeah, I need a PS2 with GT3, but none of us want to shell out the loot. I hate MarioKart because the handling characteristics are so unbelievably bogus.

*TDNS stands for "That doesn't suck"

Women- egads women are getting worse and worse..is there ANY insecurity they don't try to mask with something. Whether it be stuffing silicone bags into their chest to feel better or wearing rediculous shoes to boost their height..I think it's abundantly the until women excise these demons they will not be looked at as capable of leading this Nation or crashing through other glass ceilings.

I'll tell you what makes me want to hurl - statements like the one above. There is no logical correllation between women governing a country (or breaking any similar "glass ceilings") and their appearance. If anything, an intelligent AND attractive woman has more going for her, and is going to make it if any woman will. Whether or not she wears heels is beside the point in any case.

If anyone needs to exorsize demons here, it would be people like you. And while you're at it, learn how to articulate your opinions with the written word. "egads" and a lack of punctuation doesn't exactly speak for your IQ.

    1. Really really small people who can't drive but feel compelled to drive the largest possible vehicle - usually while talking on the cell phone etc.

    2. The french sports media constantly trying to cast aspersions on Lance Armstrong's 3 TdF victories (sour grapes anyone?)

    3. paving open space to put another Wal-Donald's in somewhere.

    4. Disney co-opting ideas and commoditizing it. I mean, the Hunchbank of Notre Dame? Come on, they turned it into a total non-sequitur.

    5. Non-sequiturs

    6. The need to put a human interest spin on every news or sports story.

    7. getting ripped off

    8. People who don't chain or otherwise curb their dogs so that they don't run after cyclists with their glistening fangs bared. Always frightening and very dangerous at speed.

I'm sure there are more, but I'll stop now before I get upset.

Um, in that case shouldn't you be agreeing with Moogs ?? Wouldn't it be a better world if people weren't judged by their appearance, and wouldn't it stop women taking measures to improve their appearance?

I'd like to think I've arrived where I am today because of my (sometime) intelligence rather than my looks... though perhaps I'm being fooled into thinking this way because I don't wear high heels and have a small bust.

    Galadriel,

"methinks the lady doth protest too much"

    1. Correct punction, while being necessary for effective written communication, is not a strong suit of "netiquette". I write to the AI boards to quickly get my ideas down for discussion...if someone doesn't like my punctuation then they will have to live with it.

    2. "exorsize" is not a word "exorcize" would be the correct spelling. Yet even then your usage is incorrect in my context. I did not say these need exorcisms but to "excise" or to "cut" these problems away. Maybe you should focus some of your "High Power Intellect" in better reading comprehension.

    3. While my words are harsh I stand by them. Some day I will have to raise a daughter and I shudder when I think of the images of Brittany Spears and the like running around on TV half naked.

    4. I agree that Women have alot going for them regardless of their attractiveness, however, it is foolish to ignore the blatant problems that exist.

    Questions:

How many men do you know would put up with shoes that damage their feet and strain their backs?

How many men do you know with Bulimia/Anorexia?

How many men do you know that are Battered Husbands?

How many male strippers do you know?

The list goes on and on. My post was not meant to degrade women(although I admit that I walked a fine line and maybe crossed it). Yes I wanted to provoke discussion but I believe that women have not become fully emancipated...I probably won't see that in my lifetime. If you don't think I haven't seen the heartbreak and disappointements of my female siblings and friends you are mistaken. If I have pissed you off it's good because women should be pissed off and the continued marginalization of women. My IQ may be low...but I have enough of dem thar digits to see what goes on in my country.

Thanks for the response and alerting me to my poor grammar. Life is a journey and I'm always looking to improve

Some Men DO prefer Intelligence over Looks. I believe in most fields smarts will take you farther than looks in the long run. Being the Aries Male that I am I lack tact in my posts but I have never been one to promote misogyny.

I have to disagree a smidge on this one. This one gets bandied about alot at dinner parties and stuff, but ususally the facts of the case that led to the huge judgment against McDonald's get obscured. They deserved what they got.

The woman who sued was elderly, the top on the coffee was not properly attached and she received severe 2nd degree burns and permanent injury. Older people do not withstand burns as well as younger people. But this is the real issue: during discovery, the plaintiffs uncovered numerous documents that showed McDonald's research into coffee temperature and potential for burning. They concluded that, even though the temp of their coffee (something like 185 degrees F) had a high potential to cause serious injury if served improperly, they would sell more coffee at that temp than others (b/c morning visitors listed

hot above taste on surveys) and would make up for any possible liability. The jury's verdict was simply an expression of the unsuitability of that kind of cost benefit analysis. This is the type of expression that juries are entitled to make through punitive damages. Unfortunately (in my opinion) the damage award was drastically reduced.

Oh. I found a link with the actual facts (somewhat different than the ones we discussed in law school).

    Some of these aren't terribly obscure. <img src="graemlins/bugeye.gif" border="0" alt="[Skeptical]" />

    My list:

    Drumsets with birch shells.

The behavior of the float attribute in CSS.

The fact that Windows doesn't have robust versions of either Perl or Python.

The unholy monster that murdered American copyright law and took its place.

The way Windows NT immediately foregrounds the window of a launched application and transfers focus to it.

The way Netscape 6 on Windows automatically un-minimizes and foregrounds itself when it starts formatting a page.

The continued reverence, in popular culture, for Freud.

No not at all! But like fine wine...intelligence grows over the years while looks fade. Best thing about not getting married early IMO(of course i'm biased) is that early 20's I just wanted a HOT Woman...now early 30's I want a good Woman/Wife/Confidant/Mother to my children. I'm sure you embody all those qualities and more Belle

well, the battered husband one is easy.

    1. the number 1 reason you don't know any battered husbands is that you basically can't charge a women with domestic assault, not that they aren't capable of it. i can promise you right now that if the cops show up to a domestic scene and someone goes to jail, it's the guy. i've worked for a prosecutur, and time and again there were men who were battered by their wives/girlfriends who ended up in jail for it.

second, they never press charges, 'cause then you'd look like a pussy.

    2. as for male/female strippers, i know one of each. how many women strippers do you know?

(although i'll be the first to admit there are probably more women stippers than men, i see this as a sign of women taking advantage of men, rather than the other way around)

    1. Males lose here. But I'm not for Domestic Violence so if she feels like she has to whoop yer ass then either take your beatings(man only of course) or get the hell away from the woman.

    2. I wish it was easy to say "they're just taking advantage of men" but it cuts both ways. I have had friends do it briefly in the past against my wishes. Nothing good comes from stripping. It's the closest thing to prostitution and drugs are always involved. Many women have to be drunk/high to get on stage and that starts the abusing cycle.
