I posted it here because it doesn't refer to a specific piece of hardware,and because the implications are a lot deeper than any piece of known,or even rumored,hardware that is in the pipeline.I've posted on similar topics a couple of times before,this is the third superfast chip that has a shot at reaching the desktop market,along with the op and the gallium arsenide chips.Chips running at this speed would drastically change the tech landscape,it wouldn't be simply a matter of degree,but of kind.All kinds of high end AI applications that are currently running only in labs would become part of everyday life-expect to see C3PO-like droids by the end of the decade.
