His joke riffing on the dog eating ways of some Koreans has <a href="http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&u=/nm/20020301/en_nm/media_leno_dc_2&printer=1"; target="_blank">upset some folks.

    That is weak.

Leno should have said, "Stop eating dogs or I'll keep making fun of you for eating them."

    Don't forget cats too.

Korea has to stop this. Oh, and Jay Leno sucks.

Why do they have to stop? Sure a dog is a pet here but... If you're willing to eat cow or chicken or lamb why not dog? It's not for us but there's nothing immoral about it IMO.

I see your point but the animals in that photo are not wild. they look very domesticated. and that IMO is wrong. I can see maybe if it were wild dogs and cats (are there evenwild cats?) but these look like they could have been someone's pets

Cow -> chicken -> lamb ... all are domesticated.

Maybe in another ten years you'll be able to go to to your local McDonald's and order a Fillet-O-Fido sandwich.

Pigs and deer and sheep are all smarter than dogs, though dogs and horses are smarter than any turkey or chicken. Life feeds on life IMO. There are more important things to worry about. This is just a difference between cultures. Isn't that OK?

First Leno was NOT wrong in telling his joke. I for one do not want to tune in to his Monologues to hear Knock Knock jokes.

Stereotypes are rooted in tradition. I honestly don't think African Americans would mind if you pointed out that they eat Chicken and Watermelon...we all have our food favorites.

Scott.H is totally correct. We eat cows like no tomorrow in the USA but bovine are sacred in India. Some countries eat horse meat and that outrages many horse loving people. The fact is...it does and has happened and the South Koreans have no right to complain and expect changes. People really need to stop be so damn sensitive...everyone is way too uptight. The differences that we have..make us more entertaining...take the good with the bad. I'm suprised the S Koreans had an issue with this....are they ashamed?

Glurx---Fido Burger? I had to pick myself of the ground with that one!

The only kind of life I respect iis human life. Tis will be an interesting statment when genetic reprogramming of fetuses becomes possible, but I stand by it for the moment.

What's wrong with eating dog? I'd eat my dog if i had to.

Think Fuzzy Zoeller and Tiger Woods. That was symptomatic of the same fragile ego nursing nonsense that led certain Korean Community 'Leaders' to proclaim their injury and offence. People need to get over themselves, including Blacks, who are just as badly behaved as every other exclusionary group with half a testicle worth of bravado and access to a camera crew or reporter on a slow news day.

That's only because dogs are pack animals.

Screw them if they can't take a joke..we have gotten so thin skinned in America that we have to watch everything we say so as to not upset any special interest groups..where the hell has freedom of speech gone?

Obviously my first reaction is complete disgust, but I guess that's the cultural difference. I eat hamburger and turkey, some people feel this is just as bad....

I have trouble thinking that a pig is more intelligent than a dog, considering the abilities of search and rescue dogs, seeing eye dogs, dogs that work with kids who have developmental problems, police dogs, blah, blah. I could be wrong though...

There are so many things that go on in the world that would outrage people if they knew about it or were subjected to it all the time. As long as I don't have to see this actually happening, I'm not going to get TOO freaked out - I mean, what the hell am I going to be able to do about it? I'll just promise myself that if I see a van full of Koreans with "Doggie Diner" on the side scooping up strays in my neighborhood, I'll cave in all of their skulls with my aluminum bat.

If I may bring pop-culture into this...

If you'll recall Vincent Vega and Jules Winnfield's conversation in Pulp Fiction:

Vincent: Bacon tastes good, porkchops taste good.

Jules: Hey, sewer rat may taste like pumpkin pie but I'd never know 'cause I wouldn't eat the filthy mother****ers. Pig sleep and root in **** . That's a filthy animal. I ain't eat nothin' that ain't got enough sense to disregard its own feces.

Vincent: How about a dog? Dogs eat their own feces.

Jules: I don't eat dog either.

Vincent: Yeah, but do you consider a dog to be a filthy animal?

Jules: I wouldn't go so far as to call a dog filthy but they're definitely dirty. But, a dog's got personality. Personality goes a long way.

Vincent: Ah, so by that rationale, if a pig had a better personality, it'd cease to be a filthy animal. Is that true?

Jules: Well we gotta be talkin' about one charmin' mother****in' pig. I mean he'd have to be ten times more charmin' than that Arnold on Green Acres, you know what I'm sayin'?

I like pork, but I think Jules' point on the dogs stands.
