Hey All,

I'm new to the forum (first post); I just had a quick question regarding the Core i7 MacBook Pro.

Is it possible that if Apple supports the Quad-Core i7's with their next refresh that I could put one in the current MacBook Pro?

Just thought I'd start off with a ridiculous question

Thanks!

No, of course not. The CPU is soldered to the logic board. You can't just pop chips out and swap.

And if you could, that i7 would fry the MBP (and your lap) because it hasn't got an appropriate cooling system.
