He must have been busy playing on September 11.
Oh wait. Different Jesus.
<strong>Hmmm.

This attitude always bothers me a lot. People want nothing to do with God or Jesus until there is a disaster of some kind then all they can say is, "Why did God not stop this?" Which way is it? No God or God only when you want Him there? You can't have it both ways. Also, you can loo to any of these disaters and find miracles in all of them where you can either say "Boy were they lucky!" or "What a miracle, God must have been watching out for them!!"
<img src="graemlins/lol.gif" border="0" alt="[Laughing]" /> <img src="graemlins/lol.gif" border="0" alt="[Laughing]" /> it looks like Jesus it taunting the kids with the ball!

What bothers me, is people who just got out of the building crying "Oh the good lord saved me!!"
Sure, guess he couldn't be bothered saving the other few thousand poor bastards in that pile of rubble?
but what do I know, I am a Jew.
People I know think Passover is the Jewish easter where we celebrate a Jew by not eating bread
Jesus was a Jew, so christians and catholics are just JEWS FOR JESUS
come on
you know, like patriotism, is just like another word for racism, and the male fascism of AMERICA
\t\t\t-From my english teacher <img src="graemlins/smokin.gif" border="0" alt="[Chilling]" />
Yeah, "This is the key to heaven. Wait, you don't just GET to come in, you have to earn it! Where's your wallet?!"
Sorry, I'm in a bad mood, and just trying to get a rise out of NoahJ.
I'll be in my normal happy mood tomorrow. lol
tell me you guys didn't catch this on Conan O Brien a few weeks back!
Jesus: "Settle your conflicts with your fists!"
This one is good too, Conan showed it...
Notice #21 is TACKLING Jesus... He's going straight to hell! <img src="graemlins/lol.gif" border="0" alt="[Laughing]" />
And he (conan) showed the back of it, #21 has COLD DEAD EYES OF A KILLER...
Didn't realize Jesus was a ball-hog...

We've known Jesus was a soccer player for years. Haven't you ever heard:
Jesus Saves!
What they usually leave out, though is:
But Diego Maradona scores on the rebound!

[Yes, Christians can have a sense of humor about this stuff, too!]

And now for the Theological Word for today:
1) Whether or not "the good lord saved" someone from a disaster is impossible to know. If someone genuinely feels that way, I'm in no position to say their experience is invalid.
2) 9/11 (and other similar tragedies) was not caused by God. It was caused by people. What God wants and expects of us is to exercize our free will to get along with each other, not kill each other. If God stepped in to prevent every tragedy like this, we would never learn that hatred has disastrous consequences for everyone. Instead, God went to work after the al Qaida members decided on their own to kill thousands of people. He reached out through the rescue workers, firefighters, and millions of others around the world to show the power of love and compassion - and why it is so much better than hating. It's rather like a parent with an infant learning to walk. If you never let him fall down, he'll never figure it out.
We now return you to your regularly scheduled frivolity.
(Five big cookies to anyone who gets that reference.)
<strong>Heh... my brother used to be a goalie in high school, and had a cool t-shirt that said 'Jesus Saves!' with a picture of jesus doing a dive across the net to snag the ball. Good stuff.

The Blue Meanie is dangerously close to agreeing with you on point two there, TJM. But I would like to insert the word reincarnation here...
This whole thread is a rip from <a href="http://www.brunching.com/features/sportjesus.html" target="_blank">The Brunching Shuttlecocks</a>.
(edit: not to say bringing it up was a ripoff. some of the comments were obviously...um..."inspired," though?)

Is that a fact?
It also seems to me that theres a lot of hate going around...

Indeed there is - but that is entirely by our own choice. Hating is generally much easier than loving, it seems.
