Guys...this is serious and I need your help.... (PLeASE READ)

Ok, here goes. Well, the other day I had a really strange occurance. What happened was I was trying to sign into AIM and I kept getting a message that I had been been "blocked". For sure I thought maybe this was a problem with Fire, but then listen to what happens next. I finally get on, using a different name, and am sent convo from my screen name being sent to my girlfriend. Now I can also note that my girlfriend sent me an email showing someone sending her messages on my name, when I wasn't on. This was maybe a week or so ago. Now go to today. Right now I can't sign on, and am getting the same blocked message. It gets worse......I've tried multiple names and it connects me then a minute later disconnects from AIM. This happened with my main screen name earlier too.

Last night, I went to send an email through my Yahoo account. I type in my password, then it says my password or ID is incorrect. Ok, I'll try again. Same thing. I know I typed both in correctly and did this several times. Then, I go to password lookup and type in my info. Hit submit and get my new password. What happens? You must type in a country. I did. I entered the country and every other thing. Then I try it today........you must enter your birthdate and area code.......I did both correctly.

When I have gone in chat I've experienced people on different names harassing me about me and my girlfriend and I have also received word of them chatting on my name, saing stuff about me, my girlfriend, and to my friends in there.

Now I was talking to her last night and I also mentioned how over the past we have been getting phone calls every once in a while. These have been somebody not saying anything and staying on the line. I have done things like kept saying hello......and have even stayed on not saying anything. They have not hung up. Then once I said "Im f*cking calling the police right now" screaming it in the earpiece and then click they hung up.

After I explained all this to my girlfriend, she says she gets the same exact thing, and has been for a while like we have been. Also I should note that I have hit *69 several times and its said the number is unknown.

I really need help and need to know what to do, because this is getting really serious. Should I call the police? Notify AOL and Yahoo some way?

I don't know who would be against me and Stef so much, and who would even take the trouble to do all this.

If you call the phone company and explain what's going on they will have to give you the numbers of the people calling. The telephone company knows all. And you need to call the police too. Give that info to the police.

The AIM part makes it seem as if it's other kids ****ing with you.

Be safe, call the cops. Get a new screen name. etc.

Sounds like somebody you know got your password. Did you use the same password for both your AIM and yahoo accounts??

No. And I change the Yahoo one very frequently....we're talking every few days (so I could avoid this in the past).

I would contact Yahoo and AOL. They may be able to give you some info about where your screen name is being signed in from (does that make sense?) I don't know how old you are, but if you have any credit cards, I would do some checking on those too. If they can get the passwords they have, they may also know passwords for amazon, and places like that, and may be buying stuff.

In general, if I'm being harassed, I would call the police. They are public servents, and you are paying their salaries. They may as well do some work for you.

    best of luck.

another thought: have you signed in on a public computer? or any other computer other than your own? and if it's only your own, would anyone else be able to sign on as you? a sibling maybe? that wouldn't explain the phone calls, but it's a thought.

FYI, from Yahoo's Terms of Service:

[quote]5. MEMBER ACCOUNT, PASSWORD AND SECURITY

You will receive a password and account designation upon completing the Service's registration process. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of the password and account, and are fully responsible for all activities that occur under your password or account. You agree to (a) immediately notify Yahoo of any unauthorized use of your password or account or any other breach of security, and (b) ensure that you exit from your account at the end of each session. Yahoo cannot and will not be liable for any loss or damage arising from your failure to comply with this Section 5.

Make sure NO ONE knows your secret answer...mine is what is my old email pass which no one knows...

Make up a random letter pass...

MAKE SURE there are no keystroke loggers/virii/trojan horses/whatever on your comp...clean it with a fine tooth comb.

Check up on the people who use your comp...

And did you use one master pass or whatever before? If so I would be seriously worried...

I don't know much about AOL, but I would probably use this link to report it:

<a href="http://www.aol.com/info/feedback.html"; target="_blank">AOL Feedback</a> if that's not the correct place to report it, they could probably point you in the right direction.

Yep. My secret answer was hard. I also changed it to make it a better question. Not only that, but I even changed the country and ZIP to make it different from where I live (I used my grandmother's country and zip). I also constantly switched the Yahoo one. My AIM one would be pretty hard to guess even if you know me. I dont need to worry about other people who have used this computer. My mom isnt going to do this (only other person whos used this other than me).

About the stuff on my computer I actually think there could be something, I didnt think of that leading to this before. How would they know? I have noticed problems that I should not be experiencing with a new top of the line G4....like the fact that the computer wont remember its settings, it always asks for an application to open stuff (like themes I downloaded or shareware programs) when they dont even have one to open with, etc etc.

I got on for about 2 seconds on AIM and noticed my girl's name wasnt on and she would be on right now I think. I'm a bit worried.
