contributor of funds to the Palestinians in the whole wide world ????

    Guess

    guess

    guess..........................its the US !

    not the EU

    not the rich Arabs

    not even Bill Gates

    it's gd'old Uncle Sam !

And then they go and celebrate and dance and give their children sweets when Al-Qaeda attacked the WTC....

At least Israel is a reliable ally of the US.

    With pleasure

According to these <a href="http://www.un.org/unrwa/finances/contribution.htm"; target="_blank">UNRWA</a> figures (this is The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East) the US gives nearly 90 million $ for Palestinian refugees, the EU is a far second with 43 mill and guess what- (this is the most interesting figure) the Arab league gives around a misly 3 million to their Palestinian refugee brothers!

In addition, according to the <a href="http://news.bbc.co.uk/hi/english/world/middle_east/newsid_1934000/1934526.stm"; target="_blank">BBC</a>( figures taken from the World Bank) the PA itself gets the following funding from various sources :

    (in millions-$)

570 from Arab league countries ( that's about 22 different states ... some of which are extremely rich)

300 from the whole of the EU ( lots of countries all are extremely rich as well )

240 from the US ( alone and this is only for the PA directly)

The US total is 330 million - by a HUGH margin the largest single contribution to the Palestinians !(BTW I'm sure that if I'll dig up some more I'll come up with additional aid the US provides for them that is not included in those sums)

    From outsider's link:

Restrictions on people and goods leaving the West Bank has caused an estimated loss of $3 billion to the Palestinian economy since 1993.

I'm supposed to be impressed by $500 million over 9 years?

Israel recieves $3-$4 billion in aid from the U.S. every year.

$90 million for the refugees in 2000? Israel got $90 million every week and a half.

And that's for refugees, not military hardware.

LOL .. these links are as usless as crap ..

I gave you real figures from the UN and the world bank these figures are per year .. thats 330 per year, OK ? ... did you read this ?... do you understand ? not 500 mill over 9 years .... 330 per year .... shall I say that again ?

These figurs also prove what I was saying that the US is BY FAR the single biggest contributor of funds to Palestinians ! this was the point you wanted me to prove !

Re funding for Israel- I have never denied the fact that Israel recives lots of money from the US in fact i mentioned it on the other thread myself.

(BTW did you know Egypt recives nearly as much ?)

What I have said is that Israel is a reliable ally of the US, has never let the US down, is a democracy and has exstensive business and millitary ties with the US.... Basically this relationship is mutually beneficial ....

The Plestnians on the other hand, choose to take the money and then use any chance they have to burn the American flag and dance in the streets of Gaza when Americans get blown to bits.

First let me state that I think no country should have an official religion. It just creates problems. I don't like defending Israel, but I am absolutely amazed at the ridiculous term that has been thrown about regarding disputed territories. This alleged "occupation" is nonsense. Israel was attacked from all sides and somehow was not only able to fend them off, but they were able to drive their attackers out of these now "disputed occupied territories." They got the land fair and square in a DEFENSIVE war. They didn't ask to be attacked simultaneously by a multitude of countries that intended on utterly destroying Israel.

Should the United States give back California to Mexico? No. Israel shouldn't be forced to give back any land to the Palestinians. Frankly, the Palestinians should just shut up, stop whining, and take whatever they can get from Israel.

Oh, by the way, I love how our fearless leader decided to back pedal after initially supporting the Israelis. He forgot that our Saudi "friends" who supply us our damn oil don't like Israel. I bet he'll just use this as another excuse to drill in ANWR instead of mandating an increase in fuel efficiency across the board in all new cars produced. But I digress.

Repeat it to yourself until you understand.

ALL nations gave Palestine $330 million in 2000 as per your link. The United States gave them ~89 million of that.

    Read your own link.

    Grand Total: 337,014,742

That's from everyone, not the U.S.

    --

In your BBC link it states that the U.S. gave palestine $224 million in 2001. That's &gt;$320 million in 2000-2001.

And that's general aid. Food for refugees, etc..

We have $2.1 Billion to Israel in MILITARY aid in 2001. $700-800 million in general aid in the same year.

Israel isn't exactly faithful to us, either, we demanded withdrawal and it is very slow coming. Our support of Israel has also put us in a very precarious position on the world stage, not that Israelis give a shit about that.

By your own link it shows the EU and Arab League as giving more.

Some Palestinians did, and it doesn't really matter because as the world's most powerful nation, shouldn't we be helping refugees anyway?

Blah blah.... this is getting tiresome.... what are you trying to prove ? that the US isn't giving money to Palestininas ?

I dont know why you insist on arguing when the TOTAL sum you talk about is 320~330 mil which is eactly the sum i was talking about .. HELLO ????

    where's the argument ?

So what ? how is that relevant to what I was saying ? Egypt is getting 2.5 billion a year, is that relevat ?

If you don't think the Israeli American relationship is as usefull to the US as it is for Israel see what your government has to say about US Israel relations .... see what the majority of Americans ( who support Israel and the administration's policy on the middle east) think .

Did you know that a very large portion of that military aid goes into funding defense research programs that benefit the US economy and Armed forces.

Israel is a powerhouse of high tech R&D and many of the most advanced Aircraft Avionics, Defensive missiles and EW Radar systems are developed in Israel using US funding and Israeli know-how.

All this exclusive technology is shared with the US.

Also the US didn't help Israel build one of the strongest millitary forces in the middle east for nothing it knows that if the day ever comes and the US needs to relay on Isreal's help it can count on having it, hardly something any of the other ME allies the US has can be comended with.

The Arab league and the EU are clusters of nations not one nation ... the US is the SINGLE biggest contributor to the PA financially .. GET IT ???

Don't waste your time with groverat?rashumon. He is anti-American and takes what sheltered american colleges and the internet have to say for the gospel.

Unfortunately he doesn't know how good he has it. He doesn't realize the only war he'll ever fight will be on this website far from harms way. If he knew what it would be like to have a relative or friend in the WTC or in Israel his song would be different.

He represents the true nature of modern America?People who are manipulated through mass media spin, advertising and their own self indulgence.

He can say anything he wants about the US because it guarantees his free speech.

Unfortunately in a free society we're free to say what we want and mindless fools are free to believe it.

Damnit, I hate it when people get me like that.

You forgot the part where I'm an anti-Semitic member of the Illuminati-fed intellgentsia bent on destruction of the common man.

I guess I've been exposed, and I'd gotten so close... so very close.

Yeah! you know we shouldn't burden the Saudis for their oil. They should just sell it to the Arab nomads instead while we "Mandate" a step back to antiquity and use candles and beef blubber for light Do you think we can power our macs with manure?.

I mean while were at it we might as well "mandate" no racism. And what the hell mandate no swearing. Why not mandate space travel, but it could backfire cause we might need oil.
