Jeez. I should know these as I was (once) (alright - still) an adherent of everything metal, but I do not. Some of it sounds like its out of the Shrapnel catalogue, especially clip 4 (like Tony MacAlpine updated). The first one is out of my league. It sounds like Story or Epic Metal to me. Could you give me any hints? I hope its not somebody like Marillion...

I'm thinking Allman Brothers for one more up there, but I can't pinpoint the song.
Let's not get too obscure/old.

Bingo, I agree, wheres the fun in that?
<strong>Here are my entries. They are *so* obscure, I've given you 10 second clips, and from the first song I'll give you two clips.
<a href="http://homepage.mac.com/starfleet/.Music/song1-1.mov" target="_blank">Song 1, clip 1</a>
<a href="http://homepage.mac.com/starfleet/.Music/song1-2.mov" target="_blank">Song 1, clip 2</a>
If you can ID these, you are a certifiable loon like myself.
<a href="http://homepage.mac.com/starfleet/.Music/song2.mov" target="_blank">Song 2</a>
<a href="http://homepage.mac.com/starfleet/.Music/song3.mov" target="_blank">Song 3</a>

Thoth
Hell, I'll give you the whole song in less than 10 seconds (less than 5 in some cases )
<a href="http://homepage.mac.com/kevb/short.mp3" target="_blank">short</a>
<a href="http://homepage.mac.com/kevb/lessshort.mp3" target="_blank">less short</a>

2) Is Not Allman Brothers - this one may have been too hard thats why I made it long
Clue: Long Beach, CA
Same song <a href="http://homepage.mac.com/buonrotto/.Movies/clue2.mov" target="_blank">with lyrics</a>.
Have you tried just letting IE play them?
They're just mp3s. QT should play them fine. If not, try iTunes.
well, here's one much easier than my others: <a href="http://homepage.mac.com/starfleet/.Music/song5.mov" target="_blank">song 5</a>
