Europe - The Fourth Reich

Well, it has happened then. America couldn´t bring the EU down by dirty trade tactics. They tried ridiculing the Euro but found out that Europe really doesn´t care about their opinion so now they have clutched the final straw.

Name calling.....

Europe, or the EU rather, is a breeding ground for anti semitist hatred. Why? Well because our countries are not run by a Jewish lobby in our parliament that tells us the entire situation in the middle east is to be blamed on the Arabs.

Well done..US..for something over 200 years old you behave like a 5 year old.

    This is simplistic :

america is not rule by a jewish lobby : there is many lobby in america, which are an organised extension of public opinion. There is lobbying in Europe too. Saying that america is rule by a jewish lobby reminds me some classical "humanist : sarcasms" claims : the world is ruled by three lobbying : the jews, the communist and the free-masons. So i don't buy this arguments. worse it prevent me to agree with the others things he has said even if i find some of them interesting.

Well gee, from my point of view it seems that Europe is pretty worthless, from a worldwide perspective, but I tend to keep these opinions to myself, because they're hard to explain in under 5000 words, and Europeans don't fully understand where I'm coming from.

    Here's a taste:

In a nutshell my philosophy is that the weak always want what the strong have, but it's only an issue when the rules punish the strong. That's the way I see the EU behaving, though. And I don't think Europe can't be great: it just isn't great now, in my opinion.

hah... of course the Swiss aren't for the EU. They already have all the benefits of a member nation of the EU (through hundreds of treaties, agreements, etc etc) without actually having to take any shit from them.

I find it very hippocritical at times. "We want all the 'goods' without having to 'give' anything". They reap all the benefits and give nothing in return. If they didnt like the EU so much, why dont they join to try and change it? And dont give me the usual BS that Switzerland is the neutral country of the world, etc etc etc.

Anyway... wtf Mac Bomb Threat. are you a disgruntled LePen supporter or something?

And the reason why they repeatedly vote no thank you? Maybe it's because they do not like what they see. Good for them.

Oh, and the Danes voted no when asked about a year ago whether they wanted to join that disaster of a curr?ncy, in spite of the government spending millions trying to persuade them to vote yes. Goes to show, ask the people, not the politicians.

And are the Brits going to vote yes when they are finally being asked by Tony? I do not think so. And why should they, the £ound has been very strong for some time now.

The ?uro is introduced, and starts going downhill straight away, and has now gone down by more than 25% against the major currencies, in spite of predictions/assurances by the European politicians (what do they know, I ask you... sheesh) on the day of the introduction that it would start going up immediately. Something wrong there, no? How come the international money market is *not interested* in the ?uro?

Who is talking about ruling the world? I´m talking about another brick in the wall.

Fact of the matter is that basically to become the President of the United States you need to win over the eastern seaboard and the Irish population. Which explains Bush´s leaving out Northern Ireland in his state of the Union. Of course, without alienating the rest but that will do it for you. The Jewish lobby is at least 10 times the size of the Arab lobby in the US. Which explains it´s actions.

However, in Europe, there isn´t such a large difference. Mainly because of the massive presence of Northern African immigrants. That´s why we have a more ballanced view. Take note, ballanced, not Pro Arab.

However, since the American government and some of the public don´t like anyone disagreeing with them, they call us anti Semitist now.

Sure there is anti semitism in Europe. There is also hatred against gays, black people, muslims, democracy and peace. However, it´s not a whidespread problem and definitely not a big presence in our governments.

Let´s leave the "Never again" excuses to the Israelis guys. Just because we don´t back everything Israel does doesn´t mean we´re re opening the gas chambers.

I am happy to see that this post is much more balanced than the first one. But let me point out something : what i ear in french media, is that the antisemit accusation do not come from USA but is coming from Sharon. Sharon have explained to our jews citizens, that they should leave France to come in Israel who is a much more secure place than in France (what a joke !). Sharon say France is antisemit to make her shut up.

Concerning the US foreign policy even If US is the natural allie of Israel, he is a little upset by Sharon this last times. You must remember that US does not want to be in trouble with the arab countries too. Of course the jews lobby is stronger than the arab lobby at the contrary of france (800 000 jews and 4 millions muslims) but if the future of USA is in danger, the US governement will not care of them.

The former Jewish president also called the german jews to return to Israel and even better, he said that while officially visiting Germany! :-/ That caused quite a political disturbance...

Not that this thread is even worth it, but where do you get that from? I mean, I'm Irish-American and know a lot of other Irish-Americans and I don't know too many who supported Bush and he is the President. Additionally if I was gonna make a broad generalization about the Irish in America I'd that they don't tend to vote as a block.
