Is it just me, or like, 15 of the top paid games in the android marketplace IP rip offs or just plain copyright theft? Case in point "Andrio" a green skin on super mario. Also a ton of emulators that people are charging for!

You CAN get these games legit. Tons are on the Wii.

How is this allowed to continue?

The same way Android is a ripoff of iOS and has been allowed to thrive and proliferate. Android apps follow Android in its philosophy. Cheap, fast, copied, stolen.

There are plenty of crappy IOS apps out there as well... Google doesn't control the market the same way Apple does so you end up with more garbage out there... of course you also open the door to independent innovative apps as well. For example there are plenty of "rooted" apps available on the market... can you find "Jailbroken" apps on the App store?

As for Android being a ripoff of iOS... If you take a moment to play with an Android device... you should immediately see that the only thing that is like iOS is that it is a mobile platform OS and allows for the development of apps... By those some standards isn't iOS really just a ripoff of PalmOS?

By that standard PalmOS is a ripoff of Macintosh OS 1-6.5 Desk Accessories. Enough with the ridiculous broken analogy stretched over the ages.

So how does jailbreaking or rooting a particular app make it magically better?

Does anyone have a killer gotta have app for Android that didn't exist first on iOS? Or doesn't exist on iOS at all?
