Will jailbreaking wipe out everything?

If I decide to take the plunge and jailbreak my iPad will the process wipe everything on my iPad - pics, apps, music, videos, etc?

    Yep. Which is why you hit restore in iTunes and get it all back immediately.

    It depends on which method you use. If you restore from a firmware image then it will overwrite everything. If you are able to use the technique on the jailbreakme website, it won't.
