It is looking like you can save $50 off of retail if you buy your Iphone 4 from Apple vs. Verizon.
What I'd really like to see are comments from those of you talking to AT&T now and what you are getting as concessions.
they offered me my original "unlimited" data plan back, which is actually 5GB hard capped, and at the original rate of $30/mo
considering i use well under 1GB per month since i dont have the tethering add-on, i told them it would result in being more expensive for me either way. they then told me, "well, hopefully you'll be happier on verizon and you will be charged the full ETF on your way out. just let us know when you'd like to cancel."

Wonder who has more deal latitude store or calling ATT directly
Hmmm as the 10th draws near wonder if ATT changes attitude
I was hoping for around 120 / month for 2 iPhones including
A modest text plan
Also if you make a deal with ATT can you then shops around for best deal
For the iPhone itself
Iam off contract looking to keep my 2 3g's for my kids to use as a touch
I don't have that extra cost to change carriers
att may still be better for the text plan (for me 1000 for $10)
BUT
will they deal to keep you
one person above was shown the door
another on these boards got $15 taken off the contract
is my expectation of $120/month reasonable
what are your expectations, or is it still early

At store they said after a review of my plan that they can't

3 phones 2 iPhones unlimited data 850 shared min 1k texts for wife
200 for me grandfathered in most stuff makes no sense to

I call customer service to talk w them
Spoke w customer service long long time then NOT
getting anywhere ask for a supervisor and the same story
So
I asked "so after many years w ATT you can't do anything
More to keep me as a customer"
SHE SAID NO
Off to see what the above Plan is w VZ
wow I'm shocked
That's why ATT will lose many customers

Must be their strategy at the corporate level
Maybe VZ is much cheaper maybe my plan already is good

see update i spoke too soon
all my family and friends have att now
in order to have the same coverage with the following assumptions
my wife texts 500 month, me none, i use "textnow"
so unlimited texting doesn't really add anything to my plan
my 3rd phone is for my mother in law who doesn't understand texting let alone having to turn on her phone (took a while to teach her its not like a regular line phone)
att
850 minutes with rollover (usage 700 month)--grandfathered in for this minutes plan which isn't available
1000 texts for my wife
family and friends free minutes
unlimited data grandfathered in
work discount 25%
$142/m
VZ
in order for me to cover the minutes that att rollover and friends and family (free unlimited with att customers) i would have to move from the 700vz min plan to the 1400 minute plan that would include 10 any network people (700 plan doesn't have it)
unlimited shared texts
work discount
unlimited data two iPhones (no discounts i'm keeping my 3g's for my kids)
$152/ month

NO WONDER ATT BALKED AT MORE DISCOUNTS
