I think this is most likely a prototype for iPhone 4 that Apple decided against. The picture shows the version to be 4.1 whereas I would expect it to be at least 4.2 if this phone was recent.

But then again, what do I know?

Yeah, it's most likely a prototype from last year. But I do hope they bump up the storage this year. I think the retina display may have cost enough that increasing the flash wasn't within the budget last year. Apple will want to do something to up the specs for this year's model. They don't really brag out processor speed, I don't see them increasing the resolution, so barring some other hardware add-on, it seems storage is the logical lure to get people to upgrade.

No, I think he meant a memory of three places as in 128GB, 256GB, etc.

Isn't there a chance that like the move from 3G to 3Gs the only thing that changes is the internals and what we're really looking at is the iPhone 5?

I think this is real. By mass producing, or more relative, mass buying the 64g chips they also lower the price point of the 128 chips.

They are looking towards the future...

That?s a completely different situation. Apple couldn?t just use incremental display resolutions without negatively affecting themselves, developers and customers (something that plagues Android), yet they were already behind the curve using the same display resolution for 3 years running. They didn?t just pull Retina Display out of their collective ass, they planned for it.

Additional NAND is a completely beast. You can add more and it?s only affects costs.

I surely hope they add it, but I?d think the iPad 2 would have gotten it since the 64GB iPad seems quite popular, has plenty of room for the larger, and therefore cheaper, NAND, and there seems to be plenty that would have loved to have 128GB iPad even if it cost $999 and only came as the WiFI+3G model.

It's probably real, and probably predates the general iPhone 4 release. Check out the serial number, then look at your own phone.

You get your hands on a prototype iPhone. You know the video you make of it will likely circulate globally and you don't even bother to clear your desk before filming it!? I don't understand that mentality lol.

It's an interesting development but AI's spot on; it doesn't really tell us anything.

    I was so disappointed I couldn't get a 64GB iPhone 4. I hope this does shake out!

Tsk - between my very large music collection, space to record photos/video, and storing tv shows for the commute, the 32 GB isn't enough to contain my digital life. I've been patiently waiting for a 64 GB iPhone for a couple years already...

    I need it dumbass.

The original iPhone didn't have 3G service or MMS and after everything was said and done, we now have it. So shut your hole.
