So, in your simplistic universe everything at Toys R Us is a toy because they have the word ?toy? in their name? I guess that means everything sold in an Apple Store is an ?Apple? product, yet I bet they have more 3rd-party SKUs than 1st-party SKUs, and I bet a great deal of those SKUs work outside ?Apple? products.
IPad 2 certainly took care of many iPad shortcomings. That is not to say that iPad 2 is perfect just that it is a vast improvement over the first one.
The original iPad had shortcomings? And if iPad 2 is not perfect, would people care to point out those imperfections now? Or will we only hear about them when iPad 3 comes out?
Yes, actually it does make it a toy. Think about it, what as a child do you still use today? Anything? The thing is we ALL grow out of the things we play with as kids, no matter what they are. So the next generation will become accustom to the idea that an iPad is something they had as a kid, they will be looking for something that is more grown up as they get older, something that doesnt remind them of all the hours they use to spend playing games on it, they will need something that they can use and it encourages productivity in their work field. I think it really does get to that level.
Huh? Of course if you are a kid then it will be a toy or learning device for you, and you will have memories of that. If you are 25 to 70 years old, then you won't remember it much as a toy but a "cool" or "really useful" gadget depending on your age and interests.

Yes, of course the original iPad had shortcomings. Memory was a factor, with only 256MB it first had no multitasking and then had to have multitasking implemented "right". Next, while the A4 chip allowed for interesting things you did things on the iPad 1 at a certain "pace". You couldn't fly through a lot of tasks at once. iBooks was painfully slow. No cameras. Other than that, quite delightful.
These shortcomings are addressed in the iPad 2. However the iPad 2 has quite basic cameras. Backlight bleed in these first batches seems to be an issue in dark screens with the brightness turned up. Photos app shows lagginess (which may just be a software bug). Other than that, quite nice.
iPad 3 with iOS 5, Retina display, A6 processor, 1GB of RAM, 5 megapixel back camera and 1.2 megapixel front camera supporting HD FaceTime... Will be even more impossible to get and will sell 50 million units in 2012 if Apple can make that much and secure that much of high-res multitouch panels.
This A6 processor in 2012 could also be used in the Apple TV gaming console to give you at least PS3-quality graphics.

Man, iPad 3 will be so awesome. Can't wait!
That guy is so odd. If you like a product and find it useful he somehow jumps to some wacky conclusion that you said it was perfect and nothing could be done to every make it better.
Wasn't expecting Toys R Us to stock the iPad2... But, then again, it's just another venue for others to purchase. I partially consider my iPad as a toy so guess that would make sense.
By the way, I just noticed that Sporcle is giving away an iPad2 to the 500 millionth game played on their site. Pretty easy way to get an iPad if you don't have one considering all you have to do is register and play some online trivia games!
