Baby boombers

Baby bomber photo' shocks Israel

The Israeli army has released a picture it says was found during its incursion in the West Bank town of Hebron showing an infant dressed as a Hamas militant wearing a suicide bomber's harness.

The army says the controversial picture was found in a family album during a search of a house belonging to an alleged Hamas militant, although there is no independent confirmation of its authenticity.

Palestinian children often dress up as militants brandishing toy guns or suicide bombers, but the Hebron "baby bomber" photograph has provoked widespread concern in Israel......

......The picture - which the Israeli army says is genuine - shows a boy, about 18 months old, standing wide-eyed in a baby suit.

Red wires are strapped to his waist, which is clad in a pretend explosives belt, and across his head is tied a red bandana of the extremist Islamic group, Hamas. ....

I just saw this myself. Apprantly the relatives say that is a real photo, not a fake. But, was only taken for fun.

    Another news link with information.

One quote from the article that I thought was especially strange.

?People dressed this child up as a suicide bomber just as in people in Britain might dress a child in their favorite soccer team?s strip,? said Palestinian Labor Minister Ghassan al-Khatib.

Anyone else draw the same3 conclusion as this guy? Soccor players, suicide bombers. They're all the same, right?

    From today's Jerusalem Post:

A Palestinian child holds up paint-stained hands, resembling blood, in Gaza Strip nursery school graduation ceremony.

Even Animals try to save their young from harm. This is just disgusting.

But just another exaple of Islam at it?s finest.

Judging from the body counts at some international soccer matches...

    What a bunch of loons.

I mean really, what's the point? Go to Google/Images and enter "boy with gun". Doesn't matter where, when or how...weapons (and violence) are prevalent in every culture or society. Just a little sicker than others...especially when all that religion gets foisted into it.

It think does matter when it relates to the ritualistic murder of innocent people. When parents are involved in breeding kids for this purpose, they need to be locked up in an asylum. This is yet another a symptom of the depravity Arabs have sunk to.

PS. Artman, are you in direct competition w groverat now?

It does show how acceptable violence is in the area, and it is sad. Of course, it doesn't mean a whole heap else, as Artie points out so beautifully.

"The depravity Arabs have sunk to"

    and

    "Islam at its best"

are also sad indicators of the lack of any decent solution or *new thinking* in the area. Both picture and writing show this, and both are only going to lead to more dead Israeli innocents and angry, frustrated Palestinians.

The picture of the boy with a rifle is nothing more than typical life in the 1800's if you lived out in the sticks. You know, when you had to hunt for your own food. And you lived so far from others you would need some kind of protection from wild animals and bandits. It was a different time, and not anything like what we have now.

    Wow, artman, that's really powerful.

I really see no difference between a baby in the 21st century dressed up with explosives strapped to his body and a boy carrying a rifle in rural, early 20th-century America.

I realize that the picture, ostensibly from the depression era, might look on the surface like a boy who has to hunt for sustenance. But you cut right through that and saw that he's really a terrorist. Nice detective work.

We don?t need *new thinking*. We just need to apply the old thinking..

like democracy, the rule of law, and common decency.

    It is an awful picture.

But before we get all indignant that the Palestinians seem to be prepared to sacrifice their children for political ends, we should remember that Israel is prepared to sacrifice Palestinian children too.

    Grover,

I could have sworn that photograph of the baby was an extra-ordinarily bad taste snap of someone's kid dressed up like a suicide bomber, but no, you've cut through all that and revealed it be a picture of a terrorist. No doubt on his way to a pizza joint seconds later.

    Well done.

By the way, what is worse: the suffering of a baby when blown up by his parents (which hasn't happened to my knowledge) or by Israeli armour (which has)?

If you're trying to say that I think that baby is going to be used in a suicide attack... don't. There is no way that kid has enough motor skills to pull it off.

Oh yes. Terrible. Children can be the victims (or products) of an adult's stupidity. Groverat, thanks...sometimes I have a flash of brilliance...another photo that fits very well for this topic...

Children are so impressionable. It's horrible to see adults mold their children to hatred, fear and prejudice...with whatever methods...political, social and religious. There are good in these, but when it's twisted and given to young people...just sad.

I thought Groverat was only taking the piss, and now I'm confused. Is Artman taking the piss now? Is Harald? Am I just being dim?

Yes, children can be the ultimate victims of adult stupidity, and, as the following article will show, victims of adult hatred and sectarianism...

Artman's post of the boy w/ the rifle was supposed to be cutting and insightful.

    I responded with sarcasm.

He responded to my sarcasm with further sarcasm.

    Clear now?

If there is a french nose, then there is a jew nose. Sorry i don't buy these kind of craps, and let me remember that morphopsychology was a tool for racists behaviors. I don't find funny your comment, and i doubt that you will find many people here to think it is.

Hitler was not a great friend of France, he invade us, kill many of french people (including jews, because for me a french is a french whatever his religion is). Some french people collaborate with the germans, but more where resistants. One of my grandfather was war prisonner in Germany, the other was a resistant involved in many actions including some revenge against collaborators.

I wonder if you are not a little bipolar , going from logical constructed post to heavy sarcasms.
