The Sun said it, so it must be true. Katie would you like to tell us, was this printed before or after the half naked woman this newspaper prints on page 3 every day?

Sorry guys, but their "article" is clearly an attempt to publicise their own iPad application.

In related news, a royal staffer acquired a Xoom and presented it to the Queen last week. After the Queen played around with it for 15 minutes, the royal staffer was first made into a eunuch before being beheaded, with their corpse ultimately being dumped into the Thames.

The Queen is currently logging onto her Apple account two times per day checking on the shipping status of her iPad. If the Queen does not receive her iPad in 14 days, her majesty will have to resort to plan B - Hooking up with some Chinese scalpers.

If the half naked lady is there every day then the answer to your question is obviously both.

Ah, yes, I read it as: "I should point out that Queen Elizabeth II isn't the only the queen of the UK.?

    do you mean:

""I should point out that Queen Elizabeth II isn't the only queen of the UK."

lol. Wonder what it was the princes wowed her with: Apps? Safari? Probably not email, right? Photos? Be awesome if this is true.

I don't know why, but it seems slightly offensive to be calling her "The 85-year-old monarch", however it does seem that men and women of a certain age are picking up the iPad in droves, which can only be a good thing.

The Sun is a rag though, AppleInsider needs to be a little more discerning when it comes to non-US "news" sources. Most of ours across the pond are Murdochian trash.

When the non-American world buys an Apple iPad, Apple pays US taxes and therefore supports the US. When the world buys Android, Honeycomb (to supported manufacturers) is free and Google pays no US taxes and therefore nothing goes to the US. Non-American manufacturers invest in the hardware and all profits go to paying taxes to their home countries.

So thank you Queen Mother, and screw you Android. Screw you Google.

Motorola, makes Android devices and is also an American company, but we really don't know how much tax Apple pays on the international sale of a device since they undoubtedly have accounts in foreign banks and only when the profits are returned to the US do they pay tax. I'm not an accountant but it is certainly not as cut and dried as you say.

Methinks the time has come for Apple to apply for a Royal Warrant.

Amazon Cloud gets browser-based iOS support

Amazon quietly added support for iOS devices through its built-in Safari browser, as noted by TechCrunch. Users can log into their account on Amazon and access the Cloud Player, which now allows streaming of audio files stored on its servers.

Users who visit the site will still be prompted with a message warning them that their browser is not supported. However, music playback now works through the service, and audio is even paused when a push notification or call is received.

"Of course, this implementation is still not as good as it is on Android, where Cloud Player is part of a native app," author MG Siegler wrote. "But if Amazon did a little web work and made the web-based player optimized for the iPhone and iPad, it would certainly be very useable on a regular basis."

Amazon's cloud streaming service launched in March, but initially only had support for streaming via the Web and on Android devices. Amazon Cloud Drive offers 5GB of free online storage, with premium accounts expandable to up to 1,000GB.

The push to launch the service, which requires users to upload their own songs and is not backed by any recording industry licensing deals, was seen as a move to preemptively take on Apple and its own anticipated cloud music streaming service. AppleInsider reported exclusively last month that Apple is expected to unveil its "iCloud" service this year with support for bookmarks, e-mail, contacts and more, in addition to music streaming.

The Queen opts for an iPad

The 85-year-old monarch of the United Kingdom has asked her staff to buy her an iPad after she was "wowed" by Apple's tablet when her grandsons showed it off to her, The Sun reported Monday. Queen Elizabeth II was said to be impressed by the large screen and the light weight of what was presumably a second-generation iPad.

A "royal insider" reportedly told the publication that the Queen hadn't seen anything like an iPad before. The royal Princes apparently thought it was "hilarious" that their grandmother ordered one so quickly.

The tabloid reported that the Queen is apparently a "big fan" of Apple's products, and owns at least two iPods -- a £169 model bought back in 2005, and another given as a gift from U.S. President Barack Obama in 2009.

What they don't mention was that the iPod given to her was filled with the president's speeches. What else would she want to listen to, right?

A Sun reader commented on the newspaper's website that Her Majesty would be the last person to worry about the geotracking exploit. Her royal standard already flies at the top of the flagpole at whichever palace or castle she happens to be residing.

Now she's finally going to have something to put in her handbag.

I was told the handbag she carries with her everywhere is empty and used to signal her handlers, for instance moving it from the left arm to the right might mean "help, get our royal arse out of here for we must visit the loo at once"

Actually the money made outside the US by US companies tends to stay outside the US due to heavy taxation incurred when bringing that revenue onshore (the US has the 2nd highest corporate tax rate in the world). Corporate tax reform is currently being hotly debated http://www.reuters.com/article/2011/...10900320110217

From my search of Warrant Holders, there are none outside the United Kingdom which are not headquartered in the Commonwealth Realm, Ireland or Scotland.
