Would all Dual G4s be enough?

What if Apple upgraded the PMs to be all DP G4s? At the same Speeds?

Or SLIGHTLy higher speeds. If it's true that the G4 has problems over 933, maybe it'll be:

800G4 DP

867G4 DP

933G4 DP

All with superdrive, but bigger HD and more ram as you go up, and more off the monitors too.

If Apple "dual-ed" all of their PowerMacs, then yes. But that would be:

    733 Dual

    867 Dual

    800 Quad

    I can dream, can't I?

IF the G5 is not ready then they will have to go with the Apollo at at least 1.13GHz. Remember last generations high end was this generations low end (466-733>733-866). It should look like this then:

    866-DP no L3

    1000-DP 2MB L3

    1133-DP 2MB L3

The 7460 should at least support a 200MHz system bus like the 750FX or a double pumped 133MHz. This is to allow the bandwidth for DDR memory.

I'll hold on to the $3500 I have to spend on a new tower if I don't see a substantial increase in PERFORMANCE. I could give a rats behind what the specs say (G4, G5, DDR, 4X, 8X) as long as I see it demonstrated that it is faster on tasks.
